The 6 new managers .. 3 teams left

Post by ramfandan »

Orioles .. Craig Albernaz , Twins Derek Shelton (formerly of Pirates in 2025 ) ,
Giants Tony Vitello (first MLB manager with no playing time nor any coaching /managing in MLB minors/majors ) , Nationals Blake Butera (reported deal ) youngest manager age 33
Angels Kurt Suziki , Rangers Skip Schumaker

Braves, Rockies, and Padres left to fill openings .
Some speculation on MLB TV that Pujols possible for Padres

Any speculation other than Pujols that you have heard for any of the 3 openings remaining ?

Latest On Braves’ Managerial Search It's a week old but that's what I found.

Rockies is a tough job. For Hurdle to get them to the WS was a great job of managing in that ballpark. Tough to keep a pitching staff together.

Thanx for the Braves link ! Yes, agree on Rockies job. BTW Nice to see Derrick Shelton get a 2nd crack . Was always impressed after his dismissal the job he did on MLB Network. The guy has an excellent personality and baseball mind.

The Pirates also fired Clint Hurdle who ended the 20 year losing streak which at the time was the longest losing streak in any pro sport in the world.

I've heard Travis D'Arnaud mentioned as a longshot candidate for the Braves job. As best I can tell he's still under contract with the Angels.
