B Baker still can't scheme for a running QB
Kelly made him highest paid coordinator when he wanted to move back to LA as he did good job at MU but not great job. Running QB's are his bane and he STILL can't figure them out. Aggies QB who is very quick and had HUGE game against LSU at home because he didn't have a good enough spy on him or any at times.
Thing is? Batoon took a Heisman QB who ran all over LSU week before and shut him flat down! IMO MU has the best chance of slowing down the Aggies express and containing Simms. Will they? who knows but you have to credit Batoon for a masterful game plan going into Vandy. They have improved their secondary play quite a bit since early games and that is saying something about their staff.
But we shall see how Baker does in his next job as he had the HIGHEST Paid defensive team in country this year and while they were good and elite at times overall they didn't improve and got gobsmacked by Aggies in complete meltdown.

Only those with an inferiority complex care about a current coach at LSU.
Bashing him won't make you more knowledgeable.

Paqui Kelly may beg to differ.winonsports wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025 10:04 am Only those with an inferiority complex care about a current coach at LSU.

Making effective in season adjustments is a sign of good coaching and talented, coachable players. I'v been a critic at times of Batoon's schemes but he has them playing pretty good D now. What I liked about Baker was his emphasis on takeaways as the measure of the D. In Vandy game, D had a big takeaway.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025 09:50 am Kelly made him highest paid coordinator when he wanted to move back to LA as he did good job at MU but not great job. Re: B Baker still can't scheme for a running QB
Every team at every level has trouble defending running QBs. Vandy with Pavia averaged 20 percent more per run and pass than Missouri, whose best defense was keeping their offense on the field all day.
Re: B Baker still can't scheme for a running QB
Missouri did a better job against Pavia than any other opponent. Pavia was 10-19-1 for 129 yards with 0 TDs. And Pavia had a whole 20 yards rushing. He was bottled up. Comparing yardage per play for him against an offense led by Pribula and a freshman QB is silly. Pavia's QB rating sucked.
And that Vandy yardage per play was highly inflated by a single 80-yard run. THe Missouri defense forcing punts played a huge role in TOP. Vandy could not sustain many possessions. Your analysis is flawed.

Missouri’s defense like against Alabama was very good and with any kind of decent offense would have that won that game.
On the road with all the Pavia hype Batoons group kicked (donkey).

MU was one of ten on third down meaning the defense was on the field all day.winonsports wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025 12:40 pmTotal offense: Alabama 325 Mizzou 32511WSChamps wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025 12:30 pm Missouri’s defense like against Alabama was very good and with any kind of decent offense would have that won that game.

You stated "any kind of decent offense," so Mizzou must have had "some kind of decent offense" on first and second down to achieve those numbers.11WSChamps wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025 12:50 pmMU was one of ten on third down meaning the defense was on the field all day.winonsports wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025 12:40 pmTotal offense: Alabama 325 Mizzou 32511WSChamps wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025 12:30 pm Missouri’s defense like against Alabama was very good and with any kind of decent offense would have that won that game.

You're dead wrong as always. A decent offense isn't one for ten on third down dumb[ash].
