No it's not. Albert is not the guy you want in the dugout for several rebuilding years. He is way to competitive to tolerate a losing roster. Oli will do what he is told and not create waves. He knows he's lucky to have a managerial job. When the team is ready to compete then hire a ML manager.

albert would make zero difference in the number of games the cards win but it seems it will excite a lot of people here

Re: Absolutely tone deaf and idiotic to keep Oli instead of hiring Pujols
Many have stated the reasons I feel hiring Molina or Pujols will be a massive mistake.
I am not going to repeat those concerns.
But for the people who want to quote their success and knowledge of the game as players as being why they will be great managers, I have a question.
How many Hall of Fame players have turned into successful managers? It’s a completely different beast.
I know Frank Robinson had a long run as a manager but minimal post season success.
How many other MLB managers, or coaches in other sports were able to do it successfully?

waste of time, build a good solid talented team and any decent manager will win...again dave roberts wins because he has a stacked team not because he is some sort of genius who can win world series elsewhere
