Get to know your Tiger basketball team.
Nice article featuring short video interviews with all the players. Anxious to see what kind of influence Shawn Phillips and Sebastian Mack will have. Read that the K-State will be on the SEC network, but haven't seen it officially.

That would be really cool if it were on the SEC Network or streamed (K State exhibition). This is always one of my favorite times of the year, when we have football AND basketball going.

Mizzou/K-State is on the SEC Network schedule at 9:00 pm 10/24. Preceded at 5:00 pm with Purdue at Kentucky.

Team will be interesting this year and TALL. I believe Porter said 4 guys 6' 11' or bigger. Gates said tallest team in america which is nice and gives you depth at the Big position and versatility as all have different skill sets.
with so many new players will be interesting to see how the staff brings them together into a cohesive and competitive team.

Phillips shows no reluctance to get physical in the paint.

Thanks for posting that video of Phillips. Looks like a man! I'm hoping he can take some of the heat off of Mitchell, allowing him more room to operate. And I hope Pierce got in the weight room and can be more of a force up front.edwin drood wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:43 pm Phillips shows no reluctance to get physical in the paint.

Phillips looks impressive. I believe he will have a bigger impact that Gray did last year.icon wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 12:06 pmThanks for posting that video of Phillips. Looks like a man! The guy I want to see in action is Trent Burns. At this point still a bit of a project.

That's what mutigers.com says too, but DirecTV's guide shows Texas vs Ol Miss volleyball @ 7pm then SEC Now at 10. It does say "streaming" so maybe that's the difference. I'm not at home & will be in Nashville Fri night & wanted to record the K-St game, but I guess I can't from my computer.edwin drood wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 08:06 am Mizzou/K-State is on the SEC Network schedule at 9:00 pm 10/24. Airing as originally posted. Spectrum had the same issue. On Wednesday they showed Texas volleyball, but now Mizzou/K-State. Currently watching Purdue/Kentucky.MizzouMarv wrote: ↑21 Oct 2025 20:50 pmThat's what mutigers.com says too, but DirecTV's guide shows Texas vs Ol Miss volleyball @ 7pm then SEC Now at 10. It’ll be on the ESPN App regardless I’m guessing (streaming)?edwin drood wrote: ↑24 Oct 2025 17:23 pmAiring as originally posted. Spectrum had the same issue. Re: Get to know your Tiger basketball team.
We got to know the players in the exhibition. Just finishing re-watching (I had to watch on my phone Friday night and missed bits of it).
I think this team will be really good. Robinson and Mitchell are the keys. Everyone knows about them. But Phillips looked awesome. He’ll score 10 per game because he dunks anything near the rim. Boateng looks like a different player. He might be our breakout surprise star. Stone and Mack have serious motors. Just REALLY impressed with what those players bring.
Then you have Barrett who is solid in every aspect except shooting. Rowe could help with depth, he’s small but you can see his talent. Need to see more from Crews and Porter. They didn’t do much but I think they’re capable. Randall and Northweather may not play much, but Randall is young, don’t know what he can do just yet. Northweather is actually solid he just won’t shoot. If he’d use his shooting ability from 3, along with being a solid defender and rebounder, he’d see the floor.
And we didn’t even see Pierce. If he’s taken a step forward look out.
So much depth, Gates will have some decisions to make.

Re: Get to know your Tiger basketball team.
Stone was an eye opener from 3 and in his general play. And what a difference a year makes in Boateng, hopefully. And I would hope Robinson shoots more 3s. He's good at it.
And some other good-looking portal additions in Phillips and Mack. This team has a lot of length and athleticism now -- something Gates mentor Leonard Hamilton was known for at Florida State.

Re: Get to know your Tiger basketball team.
Phillips could be the X factor. He’s kind of an animal under the basket. We have lots of guys who are long but he’s more physical and athletic on top of being 7 feet. He doesn’t look like he’s super skilled, so offensive expectations are probably limited to dunks but he is really good at that.icon wrote: ↑26 Oct 2025 21:55 pm Stone was an eye opener from 3 and in his general play.
