Yea agreed on all fronts, but whichever scout(s) convinced the team that LM should be heavily targeted have got to be sweatin right nowMandatoryDenial wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 22:02 pm I have been super critical of the Mailloux/Bolduc trade. Be patient and give this kid a chance. Just keep playing him and let him learn with NHL ice time.

Welp...that sucked. Easy to punch Mailloux around, but the whole team looked pretty (bleep) disjointed.

The Thomas Post
The ek goal took a glorious bounce for them
Loser hartman first goal, even he knows he sucks and go lucky
The no call on parayko that turns into a goal for said loser above.
What am I missing? The 1000 shots into the loser goalies chest making him look like brodeur
Go see if ur team can get out of the dumpster this year (doubtful), leave the rest of us alone

The Blues should've explored some trade possibilities with Colton Ellis. Like a package (Texier, Kessel or others) deal to Buffalo for Mattias Samuelsson.WilliamWestcliffe wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 21:53 pm That Tucker/Mailloux pairing is total dog [shirt]. Yikes.

You cannot be serious. Scouts are sweatin right now after one game in which the whole team blew a tire. Re: GDT Game 1 MIN @ BLUES
I was at the game tonight, disappointing for sure. Not super concerned about the full season, it honestly looked like the first time we iced everyone together in actual lines they might play.
There is one thing that I have more concern about than I expected, the 4th line tonight looked pretty awful there was almost no energy or sustained pressure from that line that I recall. Most other lines did have some looks or opportunities where they missed a pass that was there to be made. That line however just looked terrible to me, there was one play where it was 2v2 Torp and Bjugstad on the wall (that is over 13' of human) and they got man handled on the boards. I don't think that can happen if the foot speed to recover isn't there, gotta play that tougher.

it looked similar on tv. they did have one run where they looked like they were creating something but didn't know what to do. I think Sunny is going to be pivotal to that line. Sunny is an extremely responsible player.Kilokaai wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 23:23 pm I was at the game tonight, disappointing for sure. I chalk this game up as somewhat unlucky, as the first goal was goofy and the second was clean by them. The concerning things were Thomas had a chance to get on the board with his nice steal and didn't even pull the trigger. And then the Blues had about a 20 minute onslaught from 10 minutes in the 1st to 9 minutes in the 2nd where they dominated (minus the 2 goals given up) and they couldn't figure out how to pot one. That is worrisome. Our goal scoring has been our problem for the last 2 years. We never seem to pour it on properly.
Re: GDT Game 1 MIN @ BLUES
The forced passes really bugged me tonight as well, there wasn't any net front pressure but we tried so many (bleep) passes from just outside the dots straight through the center of the ice into legs/skates/sticks. If I had to pick the worst team to start the season against it would be Minny, I hate their defensive structure. It is very effective I'll give them credit where due, but man it is boring to watch if you enjoy offense as an opposing teams fans.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 23:29 pmit looked similar on tv. they did have one run where they looked like they were creating something but didn't know what to do. They always seem to have our number when we play them in the regular season and then the wheels come off in the playoffs, can't explain that. Similar to the Coyotes/Mammoth in the last 5 years, for whatever reason we never play them well. If we win it's messy or strange.
Re: GDT Game 1 MIN @ BLUES
Walker and Suter were the only forwards who weren't minus, Toro and Bjugstad were minus-1.Kilokaai wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 23:23 pm I was at the game tonight, disappointing for sure. The Blues generated a lot of shots and some good scoring chances. There were some top-quality scoring chances where they failed to put the puck in the net. Couple that with the mistakes that wound up in the net and a couple of goals Binner should have stopped and they get blown out. At times the Blues forecheck and o-zone time was very good. Much of the good work they did ended with a shot right at Gustavsson for an easy save.
I am a bit worried about the Calgary game. That goalie Wolf is superb and the Flames to me played better against the Oilers than Minnesota did against the Blues.
Re: GDT Game 1 MIN @ BLUES
This is one of those games where we made it too easy on the opposition team goalie, yet hand him the 1st star of the game for doing nothing. It reminds me of early last season too where we loked like we had never played as a team together. Binner wasn't so good closing his legs, but there were lucky bounces too, but I think our whole defensive scheme was bad or unlucky. Tucker did not look ready for primetime either partnered with the new fellow. Faulk set a bad tone with that bad penalty to begin the game. Minny didn't score but we had no flow on offense with his and another penalty early,
I was also very unimpressed with Bjugstad too in the preseason. He has a tall body with long reach but doesn't see to do anything effective with the puck. He can be the odd man to sit if he does not gel with anyone.
Everyone was a minus except Walker, Suter, Faulk and Broberg.

Re: GDT Game 1 MIN @ BLUES
I just don't really feel that great about this year and don't think we had a very good off season, which is funny because going into last year I was way more optimistic that the average and now I feel like its the other way around.
I don't think it will be terrible but I also don't think it is as good as a lot of Blues fans think while last year I thought it was a lot better than most fans thought.

That is fine with me but you don't trade Bolduc for that.

Very sloppy game.
I actually thought we played well in the 1st then it just went away from us.
Very concerned by the 3rd pairing, especially as we dont really have any experienced d to rotate in.

Re: GDT Game 1 MIN @ BLUES
Faulk might get dropped to the 3rd pairing a lot faster than i thought and its not even his fault. You have to have a veteran presence with LM. Fowler most likely. But faulk needs to be with tucker. Whether you go brober-LM or fowler-LM. But we have to be more patient than one game guys. We were literally told we were going to have to go through some growing pains with LM.

Good lord…it’s one game. Let’s see where they are at after 10 games. Some of you clowns already complaining about Mailloux….freaking comical. He was far from the biggest issue last night and it’s gonna take him some time.
Bolduc sealed his fate against Winnipeg in the playoffs, he was terrible. Blues saw something they didn’t like and decided they could move on from him. It’s going to take Mailloux a couple of years to get him playing like he did in the AHL.
We had chances, we just couldn’t finish. When Justin Faulk and Nathan Walker are your two best players …that’s gonna make for a long night.
Parayko was terrible, nothing from Thomas, Fowler and Buch not good. Not sure if Neighbours even realized this game counted because he brought nothing to the table last night.

Yea the whole team sucked, but you’re insane if you don’t understand why the guy that was the center of the biggest offseason move is going to be under a microscope. It wasn’t that it was all Mailloux’s fault, it was that he barely looked NHL caliber.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 06:52 am Good lord…it’s one game. Let’s see where they are at after 10 games. Years? We traded Bolduc for a guy that might be serviceable years from now? You just don’t do that…that’s a guy you get for a 2nd or an ok-ish prospect.
