Well, at least you got the “nobody” part right. Although usually when you make that point, you use the term “lowlife” to refer to yourself, which seems more accurate, TBH. “LOL”

Obviously adding a power bat would be a boost.
But......pitching....especially the rotation....needs to take priority over acquiring that bat!

I’m not saying they should throw $$ at a FA starter either.
But if you’re going to look to use your “bullets” to swing a trade it has to be for a starter over a power bat!

Shady's already covered that: he has informed us that a "savvy GM" would be able to obtain a "young, cost-controlled TOTR starter" and a "young, cost-controlled #2." Probably for a package of Walker, Gorman, or Nootbaar plus a bag of balls. Bloom just needs to git er' done.

Good question. Here are two recent examples:

1. Jordan Walker for Bubba Chandler
2. A package of Phil Maton's expiring contract + Nolan Gorman for Trey Yesavage

Git 'er done, Chaim!

We need both-but I fix the pitching first.

You gotta name. Where are these studs. Most are contracted. Takes a trade. Not happening.

Just a couple FA ‘s. Too expensive. So I ask, by name, who are these studs.

Colby Thomas (Athletics) plays both corner outfield spots. In the majors, blocked from regular playing time. Power like Gorman, K's like Gorman, much faster than Gorman. Right handed hitter.

Coby Mayo (Orioles) plays 1B-3B. In the majors, will be blocked by Westburg at 3B and by Samuel Basallo and Ryan Mountcastle at 1B. Every bit as much potential as Walker, has stunk every bit as much as Walker so far. Right handed hitter.

(My favorite target) Josue Briceno (TIgers). Currently at AA, possibly promoted in the spring? A C/1B. Not a good catcher, so a 1B. This past season he hit 20 HR with a .883 OPS. In fact, 43% of his hits were for extra bases. Strikeout rate of 20%. Lots of walks. The Tigers already have a young, quality catcher and Spencer Torkelson at 1B. They have another top 100 prospect who also plays C/1B. The Tigers could part with this guy if you could meet a need of theirs. Hits left-handed. This is my top hitting target.

Thomas is 24, Mayo is 23, and Briceno just turned 21. Thomas and Mayo each have 5 years of service time remaining.

Only a “Savvy GM” knows. That’s why they make the big bucks. You’re just going to have to wait and see!
