I love me some tough dudeage, but they’ve at least gotta be able to play and keep up with the action a little. Seein as how it was Texier’s spot he’d most likely be takin, I could live with him on the team if he had any fight left in em, but still would rather they find a Reaves type from back in the day who fit the core age group. And I know…I know…everyone would love to have a Reaves type, im talkin more about bein able to keep up with the play and can take a shift without wmbarrassing themself.
So, you'd rather have a Zach McEwen?

That said, the guy got injured twice in camp. I think he’s washed. I liked the idea of having a player like Looch but I’m just not seeing it on that ice. Like, at all.
Yeah I don’t get it other than to give a bit of “competition” for the younger guys. He was one of the slowest guys on the ice in his prime, and that was a decade ago. What has Ryan Reaves accomplished for any of his teams lately? You don’t need a roster spot for guys like that anymore. If you can be an enforcer and still play a solid Bottom 6 game then sure. But I just don’t see that from Lucic at this age.

Lucic is faster than Maroon and tad bit slower than Faksa.

I didn't see that much fussin over them.

Here's the thing. He more-or-less cross-checked the defender right into the tender, then nutted the puck into the hole - did he get any guff ? Did anyone run him ? No, they did not.

Which is telling. He looks pretty awful(ly slow), but the man is a b.a., seems to still know how to play his position. I LIKE him in the crease.

Well Reaves never put up many points even in his prime. Lucic was a legit top 6 most of his career. It’s worth seeing if he can still contribute while bringing his toughness.

I’m happy to be proven wrong but he’s coming off nearly two full missed seasons. That’s tough for any player, let alone a guy at retirement age anyway. Heck the last time Lucic had more than 25 points in a season was before the Blues won the Cup.
