yesterday’s INT was when we were knocking on the door for another score.
The interception was on the first play after receiving a punt.

What our middle school PE teacher doesn't understand is it takes a lot of time off the clock when you run the ball 3/4 of the time and need 99 yards for a TD

That limits possessions and opportunities to score even more points than we have this year .

If we play like this in the playoffs against elite teams, it’ll be a lot easier to win the game knowing how to control the ball, field position and clock.

You’re going to hang onto that 99 yard drive all season.

In the meantime, the real sports people like me and Drink know the deal and Drink is gonna fix things. You won’t like it. We’ll be awesome.

Which one? Drink agrees with me that it's been done multiple times

And Drink disagrees with you about when that interception occurred.

And Drink disagrees with you that a 94% RedZone conversion rate is poor.

Mizzou was 6-6 in the red zone

And he still is harping on leaving points on the board.

2 things:

1. I was almost right on.
2. At least I made a score prediction

You are not good at trolling sports. You just don’t understand it. Go troll music or movies or something.
Help me understand.

What are the expected points for a team starting at their own one yard line?

Then tell me the odds of a team scoring a TD on that drive.

And finally, what are the odds of the same team doing that in three of their first four games.
Since I'm not looking for the opinion of a middle school PE teacher who organizes kick ball and dodge ball games, let me know when you have some hard facts.

There's a huge difference between "enjoying" a debate and actually knowing how one works.

Well none of that is true, but rest assured I have WAY more background than you do.

And here is what I posted in another thread and is what Drink agrees with:

In our 2 “real games” vs KU and SC:

Us:
Vs KU: 595 Total Yards - 42 pts
Vs SC: 458 Total Yards - 29 pts
Total: 1,053 Total Yards - 71 pts

Them:
KU: 254 Total Yards - 31 pts
SC: 293 Total Yards - 20 pts
Total: 547 Total Yards - 51 pts

This shows Drink’s concern. With that kind of domination, the scores should be more lopsided.

Again, we’re winning and that’s good. But hard to be a championship team not maximizing in all aspects.

This year’s team has the talent to be a championship team.
I see your point. While 547 yards in two games is not a lot but 51 points allowed. Not real productive on the defense (backs)
Well, it wasn't exactly 51 points. Pribula's fumble against the Jayturds put 7 on the board for them. So 44 allowed.

This is true. And yesterday’s INT was when we were knocking on the door for another score.

Our resident troll doesn’t get the point. We’re winning and absolutely dominating games, but against good competition like KU and SC we’ve had to scratch out wins and we really should be blowing them out.

If we play like this in the playoffs against elite teams, it’ll be really hard to win.
Whoa there! It will be hard to even make the playoffs with secondary play like this.

Mizzou is currently averaging 20 less passing yards per game than Tennessee did last year and 60 less than SMU did.

It is fairly equal to what Indiana and Notre Dame averaged.

In four wins MU's defense has stopped the run making teams one dimensional.

On the flip side the Tiger offense has been a good balance and that's the key.

Despite some miscommunication breakdowns in the secondary and playing two veteran QB's especially one who could very well be the first taken in the 2026 draft the team dominated both teams.

I can live with that and that's exactly kind of team this program has been working towards which is a pedigree for competing at a high level in the SEC and championship play

Yes the backend needs to improve but the formula is getting in place.

The Alabama game will be a national TV event in a couple of weeks and it should be wild.

Let's go.

I hear you, but I was happy to read that Drink was angry about the breakdowns and generally poor play in the secondary. He keeps putting his team on notice that there is room for improvement. That is what the great coaches do. Drink has grown as the HC big time and raised expectations wherever they need to be raised. Bama receivers are NFL quality. Here's hoping the glorified practice against UMass and then the bye week helps get the defensive backs and their coaches ready to take them on.

Bring on Bama!

That (bleep)’s gotta get corrected
Drinkwitz calls out poor pass defense in Mizzou's win over South Carolina

When we watch the tape tomorrow,” Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said after the Tigers' 29-20 win over South Carolina, “I’m going to be on some secondary coaches’ rear ends.

Just watched Drinks presser, he didn't mince words regarding the secondary. I reckon a couple of assistants got a nice little "talking to". It has to be better, brutal

Yes, our secondary needs improvement.

That said, Sellers is projected to be the #1 overall NFL pick so let's not forget he's the best we'll see all year (supposedly).

A great quarterback doesn’t make a receiver open by five yards.

Absolutely correct. But a great QB recognizes the receiver is getting separation and gets the receiver the ball.

And to be fair, that one TD pass he threw was a perfectly thrown ball into tight coverage. You just tip your cap on that play. And I blame that one more on Young jumping offsides and giving them a free play. Maybe Sellers doesn't throw that long pass if there were no offsides.
