Missouri-South Carolina Prediction Thread

Post by dhsux »

First SEC game and one we have all looked forward to.

I have had this in the win column all along and I know it's often a crazy game between these two but as the season has progressed I'm a bit more bullish here on both sides of the ball.

The boys will be ready.......38-20 Missouri in a well balanced win.

And no comments welcome from the cheap seats without a prediction.

I see a Mizzou win either way. Hopefully an easy one if Sellers doesn’t play

I think we win but it won’t be easy. They’re still an SEC D so I don’t see us putting up 50 or even 40. I think we follow our pattern of putting up a lot of yards, but maybe don’t score as much as we should. Ultimately, our D is good enough to keep them from winning.

I predict Armchair will continue this bizarre rant throughout the season, even though there is no evidence that supports it.

Tigers 38 -- Chickens 20.

Thank god the game is here. I hate that screeching sound effect that's supposed to sound like a fighting chicken.

We’re ranked 4th nationally YPG and 8th in scoring. Not bad, but you’d always like to see the scoring rank higher than the YPG rank.

Same on D. We’re ranked 5th nationally in Yards Allowed, but 39th in points allowed.

So defense has been actually more inefficient than the offense. Put those 2 together and that can lose you a tough / close game.

NOW all that said, these are 1st world problems. We’re one of the best offenses and defenses in the nation. If we capitalize on just a few more opportunities offensively and defense can avoid giving up cheap points (which is why we’re ranked 39th in scoring D despite not allowing hardly any yards and being ranked 5th in yards allowed), we’ll be nearly impossible to beat.

Now, I know you don’t really care about facts. You simply want to harass and troll. Maybe your Jayhawks will put it all together from here on out and run the table. You’d love that.

I pick MU at home. Especially after the game last year. We owe them.I don't care if Sellers does play. We still win

And since the top 15 in both categories are pretty much interchangeable, then there really isn't a significant difference..

Maybe you see Mizzou as a bottom feeder and have zero expectations. I have HIGH expectations for this team. I really believe this year’s team has the most potential of any we’ve had, including 2007 and 2013. It’s early, but if all comes together we could make the playoffs. So beating Alabama might require us to capitalize on all our opportunities and for the D to not have a lapse and allow a couple huge plays for TD’s even though we otherwise only give up like 300 yards of total offense. To win at the highest level, details matter.

You don’t sound like you’ve competed or coached, so I’m sure that is a foreign concept.
