If your complaint is that “the nature of people is to complain too much” … I just don’t see what the value of that is. YMMVBackesdraft wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 15:26 pmIf it isn’t impacting the on ice product it is definitely not all that relevant. People here just like to complain. How many people complained about JK while he was calling games? The answer? Plenty. Now because he’s gone though he’s the next coming of Bob Costas. Give me a break. If you chose to watch the blues or not watch the blues based on JK, or any other announcer for that matter, ya can’t be that much of a fan.seattleblue wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 13:45 pmA Kelly doing PBP for the Blues is woven into the fabric of the franchise itself and this is the first update about it since the fallout. You choose to be a hostile person declaring none of this is relevant to you. We’re kicking off training camp next week and we’re sitting here whining about John Kelly now calling games for the Kings. Seriously, the forum has finally jumped the [fork]ing shark. Who gives a good god (drat)?
Whatever that means.
People liked him. Figure it out.
Also, if you don’t know what jump the shark means…figure it out.
Tool.
Personally, I liked JK. That said, I love the Blues so I don’t care all that much who’s calling the game.
Again, people on here just like to be (upset) off. Kerbs is going to be fine. Everyone put your pitchforks down.

Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
Let's officially change John Kelly's ending with the Blues.
The OLD ENDING (written by the Blues)
John Kelly retired in 2025 due to age (likely). He didn't care enough about the job and the fans to give advance notice. He didn't care enough about the fans to say goodbye to them. The Blues owner clarified that it was not a monetary decision. The Blues owner showed extreme respect to John Kelly and wrote a really nice thank you note to John and his family. Likely, the Blues were not even involved in this decision. It was simply out of the hands of the Blues, likely.
The NEW ENDING (written by John Kelly)
John Kelly wanted to retire a Blue. Despite this, the Blues kicked John Kelly to the curb, and then didn't have the decency and integrity to tell the full truth to the fans. The Blues WERE HAPPY IF THE BLUES FANS REMEMBERED JOHN KELLY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. The OLD SUMMARY allowed the Blues to do what is best for them financially at John Kelly's expense.
Conclusion:
The Blues are owned currently by somebody no better than Kroenke. The Blues owners care about profits. Period. The happiness of John Kelly and the fans is a very distant concern.
Nice game call, John Kelly! He shoots. He scores.

Hey!!!!
If it's negative, you know who's going to start a thread.....that's right, it's smelly grass.
Nothing about the first glimpse of Blues hockey tonight. Nothing about camp coming up. Nope...just negative stuff about the Blues. Maybe he's a Aves fan or something.

This may be the biggest story of the year for the Blues.somni wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 22:14 pm Hey!!!!

The Blues said FU to John Kelly.
John Kelly could have just accepted it. He didnt! I believe that his getting a job with LA is a message from JK to the fans.
His message is…
The Blues dont care any more about you than they did about me. They care about profits. Nothing else. They are lying sacks of zh1t
Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
John Kelly did accept it, with grace. It was a financial decision, unfortunately. It sucks, but TV deals with Root/Bally/FanDuel etc. has been messy for years and it's only getting worse. The Blues are doing what they can to compete with high $ teams. And they've treated the fans very well.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 23:44 pmThis may be the biggest story of the year for the Blues.somni wrote: ↑12 Sep 2025 22:14 pm Hey!!!!

I can't wait for this season to start.
Keep trying. You hate the Blues. You've proven that.
Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
A very Sad, Low Class Act, to have treated JK the way they did.
I won't ever look at or support the blues the same way because of it.
I thought they were better than that, but NO.
But Good for John, he is not stuck living in st Louis for 1/2 the year.

Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
Oh no! How will we move on???

It’s not like he was fired, his contract was up and the team/network said, thanks but we’re not going to renew.
It happens.

Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
it's a shame old threads get deleted. I imagine a lot of people would be shocked by how many times an anti-JK thread was started or someone said they muted the tv and turned Kerbs on, or they hated the scripted "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you"
I liked JK, thought he called a good game, was always respectful and courteous during interviews both giving them and being interviewed, and I hope he has a great time in LA.
His contract ran out and the Blues and Fan Duel went with someone whose contract hasn't run out and has also been with the team for a really long time.
I look forward to Kerbs and I hope Joey can stay on point during the broadcasts.

Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
Really? Like…really? Your support of the team is based on how they let their let play by play guys contract expire? You’re trolling right?
Ok, just so I’m clear…let’s say the Blues tie their season opener with 1 second left and then win it in OT. Your initial reaction wouldnt be excitement, but rather, disappointment that JK wasn’t the one calling the game winning goal?
Re: John Kelly got kicked to the curb and was crushed
This thread is hilarious. I mute most games, regardless of who is announcing. Don't really need someone telling me what I'm seeing on the screen in front of me. Can't imagine being as impacted by this as some of you seem to be.
Could it have been handled better? I guess so. But I actually like the current arrangement with FanDuel and only having to pay $20 a month to get both Blues and Cardinals games. Much better than paying for a cable package just to watch local sports. If they need to cut some costs to keep presenting it to us that way, so be it.

Seriously are you both that stupid?
Or do you just need to post in every thread,....something.
