Both lines were unimpressive, Oline didn't get much push against lesser athletes and green didn't look comfortable at tackle. Richardson when he was in seemed more solid in short sample size. He weakened three positions in doing that late move. Doesn't seem prudent at all but then we arn't at practice and see the reps and tape.
D line got run over quite a bit and didn't get much push either. Wilson had couple of sacks against lesser tackles, young didn't look good at all and the backups were better at holding the edge. Smith was a disappointment after two years of excitement over his athleticism. LBer corps was solid and deep.
secondary has some really good athletes but Pride was picked on and wasn't very good, again. Keys and Hall were better in the few times I was able to focus on them.
KU offense was clicking well and if they don't shore up the Dline it's going to be a very tough game. Plus their HC is better than Eli when it comes to scheming and on field coaching. KU offense is really good. they have two new coordinators as my KU nephew reminded me but are better than ones who left or so he says.
Truly going to be a Border war and MU fans may not be happy with how it goes. Could see it turning into a shootout. MU's skill players are really good and very deep but their Oline is a mess and not very good right now.
Go MU despite a big scoring day this next game will be crucial to how there season will go. Go MU FB!

Re: first game impressions
I thought things went pretty well being the first game with many new faces especially the most important position on the field.
In this era if your QB is very good you always have chance.
Most teams show improvement between the first and second game and although the competition will be much better I would suspect some missteps on the Oline will be addressed.
Without question what everyone wanted to see and that is Pribula delivered. Zoellers didn't look bad either in a limited role.

Re: first game impressions
Pretty much the only impression we cared about is that Pribula is the guy. I know the competition was not the best but if you can't see the way he threw the ball on time and I the right place then you don't know football. He handled pressure when there was some and he knew when and how to run the ball.
There were some issues with the oline but they seemed to get that smoothed out by the end of the half.
The WRs are an outstanding group and with Pribula throwing a very catchable ball, we'll have a very potent offense.
The defense had a few issues again for things going by the half and I think will be a real strength of this team.
Mizzou will "surprise" some teams/people and I only put that in quotes is because they are only surprising people that never have Mizzou and cred after two 10-win seasons.

Re: first game impressions
was very impressed with Beau in his first start of career as da man. throws very catchable ball and after watching a ton of CFB yesterday appreciate him even more. he moves around pocket to find his secondary receivers well but more importantly made good decisions on when to take off. believe he and Speedy will get more in sync as they get more game time together and that can be a absolute lethal combo especially with all the other terrific talent in that room. Coleman is going to have much better numbers than LB and is quicker for more YAC. He and Blood will give Tigers great underneath attack to move the chains. plus the true freshman is a sec ready player and Manning showed great catch radius and is going to break out as well.
Zollers will be called on a lot more as backup with Horn's unfortunate injury but he is a absolute stud and hopefully won't be needed much going forward. Still QB room is in great shape this year much better than in previous years. Hopefully Horn will be able to do in few games but Dang he is just an unlucky dude!
As they get Oline figured out O will be even more effective with mutltiple backs with different very good skill sets. Both starters are absolute studs and the True freshman is a beast.

I think this will come down to two things against kU.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 10:45 am Both lines were unimpressive, Oline didn't get much push against lesser athletes and green didn't look comfortable at tackle. 1) Can our OL turn things around and be the force that they were supposed to be? Green needs to get back on track protecting the blind side if Drink keeps him there.
2) Can we contain Daniels? He will make mistakes if we can keep him in the pocket with pressure, but can’t let him continually run on us.
Re: first game impressions
Kansas has a game up on Missouri and I don't like that advantage.
I think Missouri can get the O line working better in the coming week.
I believe the D will come around and play as expected and the offense will do a good job moving the ball both rushing and passing.
Sorry can't see tons of fault in ANY 61-6 performance. I expect Missouri to win this coming week as well.

Re: first game impressions
And Missouri has an extra day of prep. Wash?Kansas has a game up on Missouri
Betting shops rate Missouri a 6 to 6.5 point favorite. Fanduel has them -7.5.
Re: first game impressions
For the soft spots being referred to in this forum (if true) that prep day might be big but I do think a second game is bigger.
But no excuses, Missouri should beat Kansas.
