The Big Three Saturday games in the SEC

First up is Texas at Ohio State.

Then Alabama at Florida State.

Then LSU at Clemson.

I guess we will find out a few things at the end of the day.

I realize they're playing Ohio State, but the great Archie Manning, 4-8 for 20 yards at the 2 minute warning?

That's what you might expect of a guy like Drew Pine.

Poor showing by Texas and Manning today.
Playing Ohio St to open the season is as tough as you can get and it's showing.

Manning plays a lot like Anthony Richardson, just not as good of a passer

Congrats to Barry Odom who led Purdue to a shutout win over Ball State, 31-0.

Credit to Texas for going to possibly the toughest place in the country to play in the 1st game. Their defense is elite. But not sure about Manning being all that. He’s surrounded by weapons, it’s virtually a completely new OSU defense with new DC, and he was completely shut down until the last 5-6 minutes.

I don’t see Texas winning the SEC. This could be a year where Mizzou needs to say, why not us?

A bit of trivia:
Those fairly amusing Dr. Pepper tv ads, situated in Fansville, feature Sheriff Brian Bosworth, All-american linebacker and first round draft pick from Oklahoma.

I was shocked at how many poor throws and decisions Manning made. Wow, that was an ugly first-ever road start.

I'm sure Manning will be fine and playing in Columbus isn't ideal but he didn't look at all comfortable until the 4th quarter.

Seemed to be very unsettled in the pocket and forced some bad throws into coverage.

There seemed to be some serious training wheels on Manning and the offense today. Wasn’t impressed with Texas’ game plan at all.

That said Manning didn’t exactly light it up on the few opportunities he was given.

Florida State playing like they wanna prove last season was a fluke. Up 14-7 and moving the ball. Their QB tossed 3 touchdowns against Mizzou last year when he was at Boston College.
