Who are his fav crushes? I feel like the only guys getting a little too much playing time are guys that are playing so they could build some trade value

Re: Marmol
I agree that they probably won't be ready to seriously contend until 2027 or 2028 at the earliest. If so, why wait until then to get the manager to take them there? Let the new manager have a runway of 2026 to help put that team in position.

If he doesn't go, Bloom is either stupid or powerless.

Burleson has earned his playing time. Noot I truly believe is playing to prove he’s healthy and hitting before trade season.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:52 pmBurleson, Nootbaar.

When he was hitting .199 early on he kept him in the lineup against about everybody. He had more leash than any other player has gotten.JohnnyMO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 19:17 pmBurleson has earned his playing time. He's gotta go. Bloom has a chance to put his stamp in the team from the git go. He has an open door, at least publicly, to make a change and he needs to take advantage of it.

Re: Marmol
And this underscores the Cardinals' problems. No accountability. Major league positions being filled with unqualified bozos.
Re: Marmol
You guys are expecting major changes in the way the Cardinals operate when Bloom takes over? Bloom will operate much in the same fashion as Mo. The only hope is that he does it better. The industry standard for a manager is to implement the decisions made by a collaborative group headed by the geeks. Bloom wants a manager who will do that AND get along (in other words, acquiese) with the geeks and stand in front of the media and take the hits. That fits Oli to a T. I think it’s 50/50 and I’m leaning towards Bloom will find no reason to make a change.

It’s leadership, not effectively demanding both better talent, and better performance from the talent. Tony demanded both and got both.slimjay63801 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 15:09 pmIs it poor coaching or lack of MLB talent? Or a combo of the two?

Re: Mar
Apparently schildt did also and it got him fired. You can’t compare Tony Larussa to oli and think they could handle things the same way. Oli was a given a job he didn’t earn with only having managed at class a. Larussa already had a world championship and 3 manager of the year wins coming in oli was fortunate mo is an idiot who prefers to hire inexperienced managers. Oli also saw what happened to Schildt so he’s not dumb enough to go demanding things and getting himself firedCarp4Cy wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 22:59 pmIt’s leadership, not effectively demanding both better talent, and better performance from the talent. The man-crushes are anybody Oli has said must play if healthy. Burly, Pages, Nado if they can.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:52 pmBurleson, Nootbaar.
The only players I wouldn't make available are Winn and Wetherholt. Nothing has changed since the trading deadline.

Re: Marmol
If ownership is stupid as hell which they appear to be then they'll keep him around. His salary is a drop in the bucket compared to the drop in attendance. They need to purge the system to show the fans that they are making wholesale changes. So will people come to the park for a new manager? No. But they'll continue to stay away if they don't think this team is making huge changes in direction
Re: Marmol
The probably could use another manager for the forum to despise. Like LaRussa, Matheny, and Schildt, the loathing is getting stale.
