Got it. Turn your back on the organization, and they'll improve.

That is unfair.
Many of us are disgusted with the FO organization, but still love the team.
Big difference, Cranny.

“Through 65 home games, the Cardinals have generated a total attendance of 1,873,875, based on the metric of tickets sold. Right now, that’s an average attendance of around 28,829. If that pace remains similar through the regular season’s end, the Cardinals are on pace for a season attendance of roughly 2,335,137.”
He also explained how this year’s trend would represent a historic low point for the franchise.
“That would mark the team’s lowest for a non-pandemic-restricted season since 1995, when the Cardinals drew a season attendance of 1,756,727. That season? The Cardinals only played 72 home games due to MLB scheduling arrangements out of a players’ strike and would have paced for around 1,976,318 in attendance.”
Remaining home series are against the Pirates, As, Giants, Reds, and Brewers. They might end up around 2.2 million paid.

Got it, Rojo. The plan is to shrink the revenue to send a message to ownership and management. So they don't have as much money to invest in players. They'll have to improve with players coming through the system. Makes sense.

People are turning their backs on Bill DeWitt and John Mozeliak, who (despite what they think) are NOT the organization.

They’ll be fine. They can invest out of their three decades of profit and show the customers that it’s worth time and investment.

We boycott to send a message to the ownership, because it is very clear that money is the only-only- thing that they think about. Tens of thousands of Cardinals fans have done exactly that this year. We’ll see if they got the message or not.

Boycott has nothing to do with it. People are naturally more likely to attend any sporting event based on an expectation of quality.

Got it. Stay away from supporting the players on the field
who are working hard trying to win and be a wild card team.

That’s reality. In Crannyworld Bill DeWitt IS the franchise, and we must show our loyalty for his accomplishments decades ago.

This business of “support” is not applicable.

One supports their alma mater, perhaps their former high school…certainly the kids/grandkids little league……..things with a personal connection…

Professional sports is transactional……there is no personal connection

The customer gives the organization money….the organization provides entertainment

when the entertainment is not worth the cost……the customer chooses not to spend

No one is “turning their back “ on anything…….it’s merely a consumer decision, like other consumer decisions that we all make everyday…

The problem, 45s, is that there IS a personal connection by many fans to the St. Louis Cardinals. People are passionate about their home team. They're passionate about baseball. Look at the number of fans on CT, even in a "down" year. Some fans take it personally when they don't think the Cardinals spend enough on players. One poster even wanted to punch the POBO in the face. So it seems like more than just your favorite restaurant, your favorite store, etc. More than just a
"product".
