Well that was 3+ hours of my life I’ll never get back.
My biggest concern at the moment??
Is someone keeping an eye on Noot in the clubhouse??
You know....to make sure he doesn’t further injure himself slipping in the shower or falling off the toilet?????
If he somehow manages to stay healthy through September and do ANYTHING at the plate please trade this tease.
At least swap him for a RH bat!

Now you've done it...you will be reported for threatening to shoot MO-RAN!. and will hear that you could go to prison!...cbcardsfan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:37 pmJust shoot Mo and the season would have some satisfaction to itMIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:35 pm In the old west they shot gimpy horses. Several Cardinals should be glad they are not in the old west. However, they seem reluctant to replace their injured studs. Wonder if they need to IL the brittle Nootbaar. They surely can't continue to play as short handed as they are playing right now.

Yes, I'm clearly overreacting to one game. Honestly, just very frustrated at every single prospect we bring up being a dud. When do we get to see an exciting prospect actually thrive?moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:46 pmstellar takecardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:35 pmHe's electric. 0-4 and missing the cutoff man allowing a runner to move into scoring position. It was an ill advised throw but he hit the ball fairly hard without luck.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:46 pmstellar takecardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:35 pmHe's electric. 0-4 and missing the cutoff man allowing a runner to move into scoring position. I think they are all sort of hoping for that outcomeCusecards wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:43 pm Well that was 3+ hours of my life I’ll never get back.

They probably trade him and he wins the Gehrig/Ripken Award!

I've been told numerous times on CT that we should love human error in umps, even though some absolutely suck at calling balls and strikes. Why should their repeated mistakes be part of the game even though their calls can throw games to one team or the other? It is time for ABS in some form.cardsfaninla wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:33 pm Garbage in garbage out
Losers lose again
Another sweep for Mo and Oli.
Cards are not very good.
Neither was the homeplate umpire.
Bring on the robots.
Just waiting for this terrible season to end.

And the way Mikolas pitched, this could have been a total blowout. 5 walks and 1 K. And of his 14 batted ball outs, about 10 were hit at 95 mph or better. So even when he just sucks a little less, he ain't very good, just lucky. In the 1st inning alone, 3 outs were recorded at 105, 102 and 99.

Agree games should be won and lost by players not bad calls from umpires.Ordinary Man wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 17:29 pmHear, hear!icon wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 17:11 pmI've been told numerous times on CT that we should love human error in umps, even though some absolutely suck at calling balls and strikes. If they ever do go full automation, the umps will only have themselves to blame. That guy today should never be seen near home plate again. You wonder how he ever got promoted to the Bigs.

Yes. But the infielders are supposed to be in position and hands up. Not standing around.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:01 pmthrow is always supposed to be head high on the cutoff man, who decides whether to cut it or allow it to go thruJuanAgosto wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 15:52 pmExactly. And the infielders didn't have hands up to signal where to throw.Cusecards wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 15:41 pmMental error.sdaltons wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 15:38 pmI really think he was trying to throw home for some reason. I’ll give the kid a slight pass in that it is his debut and he’s pumped up.
But....why aren’t the infielders all yelling “second base!!!!!”??????

Along with poor baserunning and lack of hustle at times.Cusecards wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:01 pmAgreeJuanAgosto wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 15:57 pmLaziness. Unfocused play. Happens too often. Mental errors all around!A good manager and staff doesn't allow that (bleep) to continue.
Players make mental mistakes but this team lacks basic fundamentals and that has to fall on the Manager and his Coaches to a fairly high degree.
