Re: How much could Wetherholt help the Cardinals offense next season?
Hypothetically of course, if Wetherholt replaces Arenado next season with an ops of 800 versus NA 700… it obviously helps but I don’t think that alone moves us past the Cubs for first in division.
We also need to add a FA bat and make a line up adjustment. Personally I think Pages is overrated at C and would go back to Herrera and Contreras at C to improve the offense. Here is my wish list line up.
Donovan 2B
Winn SS
Herrera C/1B
Contreras 1B/C
FA sign Bellinger CF has to opt out
Burly LF
Walker RF
Gorman DH
Wetherholt 3B
Bench
Pozo
Saggese
Scott
Noot

Herrera can't throw out runners. That would cost a lot of runs.

Memphis was 47-43 in games he has not played.
Memphis is 10-7 in the 17 games he's played since he joined them.
Obviously, he can carry on entire AAA team on his back and no doubt he could do even better in MLB against older and slower players.
He could turn the Rockies into the Brewers, I think.

I'd like to see Wetherholt eventually hitting 2nd or 3rd once he's gotten acclimated to the big leagues.
Bloom needs to get a whole lot more than "a power hitter".![]()

Crawl back in your mom’s hole. Here’s some new topic ideas for you:Shady wrote: ↑06 Aug 2025 16:42 pmYou are a fool, chump. I'm setting up a go fund me site for his anti-psychotic medications.
Will Wetherholt be good?
Can Wetherholt play baseball?
Will Wetherholt be better than Burly?
Who can do more dick pushups, Wetherholt or Burly?

I agree with you. Donovan is a guy I'd like to see extended, if possible.Shady wrote: ↑06 Aug 2025 16:31 pmDonovan could be a core piece, too. Unless he's the prime trade piece to obtain the needed power hitter and/or starting pitching. Could Church be comparable to Donovan as a hitter?TXCardsFanX wrote: ↑06 Aug 2025 16:24 pm Establish the core, then add a big hitter via trade or FAgency.
JJ, Winn, Herrera are all likely part of the core. Probably Burly too.
But, it seems the Cards may not be thinking that way.

Agree completely.Shady wrote: ↑06 Aug 2025 15:34 pm Bloom needs to get a power hitter in addition to JJ. Top six in the lineup, possibly. Donovan, Wetherholt, Herrera, unknown MOTOB, Contreras, Burleson, Church could also help the offense is they go with him in CF. The position available for the needed MOTOB is somewhere in the outfield.
Donovan LF
Wetherholt 2B
Herrera DH
Eugenio Suarez 3B
Contreras 1B
Walker RF
Crooks C
Winn SS
Scott CF
Saggese
Church
Pozo or Pages
???
Honestly they need Tucker and Suarez to complete the lineup....but we know that won't happen.

It's difficult to know how Bloom sees the players onTXCardsFanX wrote: ↑06 Aug 2025 21:34 pmI agree with you. the team and to know the time-line of any goal of NLC championship.
The closer the time-line the less likely that they just rearrange a couple players and expect a rookie or 2 will change the Cardinals.
Nootbaar, Donovan, Burleson are intertwined. The limited tool players are also, does Bloom sees any upside in Herrera, Gorman, Burleson, or Walker?
If they don't bring other attributes they better rake.
Who of those players will rake in 2026?
.850 OPS or more.

I think about 6, maybe 8. But, only if there are friends to go to dinner with on the days that end in “y”, unless he can save money by eating the club house spread.
Re: How much could Wetherholt help the Cardinals offense next season?
Obviously, Cardinals fans are excited about adding Wetherholt to the '26 lineup. I feel Saggese is also a young player with a lot of potential to add some punch to the lineup in '26. He may surprise some next season.

Nice attention bump.
Which would you rather give a footrub? Sagesse or Wetherholt? Or Burly?
