If his back is OK he needs to play. 100%. Thomas Saggese is just another guy. You know what you have in him. This season was supposed to be about runway for Walker and Gorman. Play him.Mort Gage wrote: ↑08 Aug 2025 16:35 pmIf his back is OK he needs to play. Can't wait to hear what Coach Molina has to say about today's lineup. Cus as Marmot stated "he just has a unique way of communicating what [success] looks like.”

You don't know what we have in Saggese. I think the Cardinals probably know what they have in Gorman.desertrat23 wrote: ↑08 Aug 2025 16:39 pm100%. Thomas Saggese is just another guy. Could be the decision about him has already been made.

The 26th man on the team getting some run, I expect he will be DFA'd around the August 15-18.cardinalsfan27 wrote: ↑08 Aug 2025 16:31 pm I don’t get starting Hampson, he has nothing to do with the team going forward. I’d rather see Noot in CF getting some more AB’s.

Could be, but if the decision has been made in the answer is "no," why not move him at the deadline? If the answer isn't "no" he needs to play.riff raff wrote: ↑08 Aug 2025 17:03 pmYou don't know what we have in Saggese. As for Saggese, I haven't seen a ton that's amazing, and there's a glut of middle infielder types. Someone's got to go.

Yeah, Hampson should never start another game. One wonders why he is even on the roster at this point.cardinalsfan27 wrote: ↑08 Aug 2025 16:31 pm I don’t get starting Hampson, he has nothing to do with the team going forward. I’d rather see Noot in CF getting some more AB’s.

Prioritizing basketball in July would certainly be one interesting way of communicating what baseball success looks like....

Hard to say. He was on the IL. Maybe no immediate need for a dh only player. The season's not over so we'll see.desertrat23 wrote: ↑08 Aug 2025 17:24 pmCould be, but if the decision has been made in the answer is "no," why not move him at the deadline? Personally, I'm trading Gorman. I've maintained that since spring training.

Agree Gorman is the king of short sample size he will have a hot streak and people say he’s figured it out and he’s going to be a 30-40 home run hitter but he’s not. He’s a “power” hitter with a .719 OPS and as many home runs as Herrera who people say isn’t a power hitterriff raff wrote: ↑08 Aug 2025 18:36 pmHard to say. He was on the IL.
