Re: Who would trade Walker?
Always a bright thing to trade someone when they're at their lowest value...

Re: Who would trade Walker?
No chance I trade him.
Re: Who would trade Walker?
A team isn’t trading for his past performance……it’s hope of future performance. Youth is on his side…….so far
Re: Who would trade Walker?
I do think it's a possibility. I wish he would close off his stance a little more.
That rf/cf gap could be his friend. We shall see.
Re: Who would trade Walker?
He should be generating much more power. He’s basically up there handicapped. They finally got him off of front toe and closed off somewhat, but his base still seems weakriff raff wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 17:43 pmI do think it's a possibility. I wish he would close off his stance a little more.

Consider this.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 16:46 pmYeah, maybe. But right this very moment you can sell him as someone who is turning it around, and will benefit from a change of scenery.icon wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 16:17 pmContenders aren't looking for untapped potential in trades.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 16:16 pm I would trade him. I would expect a haul of pitching prospects, but if someone offered that, I'd be happy for him to be someone else's problem.
And midseason might be the ideal time.
As a general framework, would you trade Walker to Atlanta for Murphy (both under control for 4 years, I believe)?
Which would then make Crooks shoppable as another high value trade piece.
Imagine Murphy holding down the C position until Bernal arrives.
ATL's outfield is a mess other than Acuna - and they would surely covet Walker.
To be clear, I am not advocating for this but am simply providing a scenario in which trading Walker might be a reasonable move.

I wouldn’t for a 30 yr old CMelville wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 17:46 pmConsider this.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 16:46 pmYeah, maybe. I'm not trading him. Too much potential.

Re: Who would trade Walker?
The reasons to hold on to him far outweigh the reasons to move him.
Young still possessing high upside
Multiple years of team control
Low $$
RH bat(Short supply)
Obviously anyone can be dealt if you get a great return.
I would consider moving him(along with certain others) if they could land a young cost controlled SP with TOR potential.
And that is unlikely.

Would you trade 4 years of Walker for 2 years of a top 5 catcher DH, and then 2 years as a starting 1B/DH?
That is what the next 4 years probably looks like for Murphy.
Re: Who would trade Walker?
Everyone in the roster is available. You'd have to convince those with NTC's. But no one is untouchable right now. It all depends on the return,
At least that would be my mindset. Of course, shop the relievers and ending contracts but listen on anybody. I am not the POBO.

JW is only 23 has a lot of potential. Do not trade him.
Re: Who would trade Walker?
dont understand why anyone would trade a 23 yr old who hasnt lived up to potential?...what would be the point, you wouldnt get much and it doest cost you much to hold onto him to find it if he can turn the corner
