I watched a lot of nucks given all their issues. He played well. Good motor last year. That said, some guys just have a year or are ideal in certain places/times/situations. Time will tell.seattleblue wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 13:36 pmah got it. I was encouraged by his Suter take as a Canuck fantheograce wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 13:31 pmIt was tongue in cheek. Im not a big fan of this THG. I guess I dont see the appeal to his down home hokeyness.

That's cool but I don't see him as "hokey" at all. It's not an act and the guy is legit.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 14:58 pm Im not a big fan of this THG. I guess I dont see the appeal to his down home hokeyness.
I see him as more presenting a "worldly view" of the game and teams/players and find it refreshing plus he's big on ranking and there's no dodging in that like so many other "experts".

I have been subbed to THG for years now and he makes videos the exact same way now when it's his full time job as he did when he did it as a hobby before and after work.. just with better quality equipment.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 14:58 pm Im not a big fan of this THG. He is a one man Hockey sportscenter with better incite than 90 percent of the talking heads. Watches nearly every game during the season breaks them all down not many people have a better pulse on the league.

That's it. He basically watches the whole league every night. He's also a very cool chill dude, with a wry sense of humor and a clear-eyed take on things. His take here wasn't anything extraordinary - just knows the book, the pluses & minuses of our roster and ran them down. However, he did give credit for our acquisitions, particularly Suter whom he knows, considers we up-graded down the middle, which was a lack. No nonsense about being 'sellers', etc. Like anyone with sense, he realizes this is, on the record & on paper, a solid play-off contender going in.Unfathomable wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 16:50 pmI have been subbed to THG for years now and he makes videos the exact same way now when it's his full time job as he did when he did it as a hobby before and after work.. just with better quality equipment.SameOldBlues wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 14:58 pm Im not a big fan of this THG. Fully agree. Love the time and energy he puts into putting together well thought out videos. It’s also one of the last places you can go where you won’t get hammered with gambling ads.MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑25 Jul 2025 21:11 pmFar from it. THG is one of the best sources of hockey analysis available to us fans IMHO he is much better then many analysts not named Joe Micheletti.

Shannon has the one trait I love, he has zero [censored] given. In a world of clickbait, made up rumors to get you to click and the over the top mannerisms of Stuart Scott (RIP, love me some BOOYA!) on a cocaine bender. He has the mannerisms of Joe Friday with a blunt (just the facts ma'am). I love his insights and his honesty.

Admittedly, Ive only watched him very briefly a couple of times, so I may not be givin him the most legitimate of chances, his whole set up just came off as very amateurish to me and turned me off. Maybe Ill watch more than just small snippets sometime and see if I feel any differently. Im sure he’ll survive without my viewership regardless thodhsux wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025 16:23 pmThat's cool but I don't see him as "hokey" at all.
