He had a brutal start, slugging just 235 with 2 HRs through April. Since then it's 432 and 14.
He also has two reasonable years left on his contract. Why would the Yanks or anybody prefer an older, more expensive, less productive option such as Arenado?

Flip side is McMahon has never had an OPS+ above 100, while this is Nado’s first full season with a sub 100 OPS+. He has a sub .600 OPS on the road. Good thing for him he got acquired by a team with an offensive park. But who would have benefitted more from going to Yankee Stadium? Someone going from Coors or someone going from Busch?

Looks like the Yanks are acquiring Ryan McMahon for 3B. One less team and it will be harder and harder to trade Arenado.
He has no market and does not want to leave. He is an older higher paid version of McMahon. Really not a topic any longer. He Contreras Gray and Donovan will be here. Helsley is the trade to monitor
OK I will no longer post any trades of any substance to talk about. I will only post trades on Helsley, no one else should post about other trades as well.
Why is Areanado the one everyone talks about? Gorman is horrible at 3B. Fine to talk about but the logjam is in the OF. Wetherholt is ready. Scott is locked in CF. Hererra at DH. So Walker Donovan Gorman Burleson and Nootbar for RF and LF. Gorman and Walker are too young to be PH types. Someone has to go. Preferably 2
Donovan can play third. So can JJ. Or Herrera can catch and Gorman can play 2B. And why is Scott locked in CF? Just bc nobody else can play the position is all I can think of.
I don’t beleive JJ has ever played 3B. Scott and Noot are only CF on the roster and he has better defense and is younger

NYY was really the only viable spot left. Now that's gone. Don't expect any new landing spots to emerge this offseason either.
Maybe Houston revisits with Paredes hurt, but I doubt it.
What if we package/bundle Nado and Helsley together and ask for a box of #2 scorecard pencils in return. But here’s the kicker. We send no cash in the deal.
Don't like it. Never a fan of devaluing your best asset by attaching a bad one. It's not like Gorman is killing it so you have a plug and play 3B solution right now. Yeah there's Donovan and Wetherholt next year, but you can have them at LF and 2B next year too.

Nado sucks, that's what makes it hard. LOL. McMahon isn't all that either but isn't a washed up decrepit old dog with $37 million left
Shame you can't say that to his face. Hide behind a computer screen and type your insults. Punk move, but common in today's world.

Opti
I'd have no problem telling him he's a decrepit old dog. He knows it too

Donovan and Gorman are more likely to be traded than Arenado, in my opinion. Bad news is you might lose someone with their peak years still ahead of them. Good news is that you'll actually get something in return.
That is why this situation is so absurd. If we trade Donovan because there is no room for him because Arenado is here and has a big contract, it likely makes the team worse. Donovan has good fundamentals and likely has 5-6 good years left. Arenado always had a goofy pull happy swing and it did not age well.
