I still enjoy watching or listening to Cardinal games
But, sure hate to tune an inning late and they are already behind.
Re: I still enjoy watching or listening to Cardinal games
So after being on the road a lot both Friday and Saturday was looking forward to getting home Saturday evening and watching the Cards on TV.
Turned on the game and they were already behind 3-0 in the 2nd inning. Before you knew it that score was doubled. Too late in the day to mow the lawn and it's more like a sponge right now with all the rain so .................... yeah, kind of like the dye was cast for the weekend.
Raining right now ................... rainy days and Mondays .................... then the heat. lol

How do you watch or listen to minor league games? I was talking about the 2025 St. Louis Cardinal games.
Re: I still enjoy watching or listening to Cardinal games
Look, any Card fan has the right to complain a little today after the uninspiring Cards play to start the 2nd half of the season.

I have never in my life ran into someone like you that continuously tells others what to listen to or watch and how to post. I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS, NOT THE MINOR LEAGUES!!
Re: I still enjoy watching or listening to Cardinal games
I watch the Springfield games on Bally Sports Live. It’s free but streaming it to your tv is a little iffy. They show all of the Single-A, High-A, Double-A and Triple-A games.

Why did you leave out that Mathews walked five?

Red -
Leonardo Bernal is probably the catcher of the future and is doing well at Springfield. Has an OPS of .824 with 11 home runs in only 282 plate appearances. Good on defense. Only 21 years old.
Ixan Henderson is a real comer. Lefty at Springfield has a 2.43 ERA in 16 starts. He and Mathews may be our lefty starters of the future. Ixan is 23 years old.
If you only follow the major leagues, Red, it’s limiting as far as looking out to the future for this team. Especially since most of the strength has to come from within the system (since you simply can’t compete with the big market teams on payroll).

Yes, it was hi-jacked in the second post that nothing to do with watching the 2025 Cardinals.

If all you follow is the major league club, and you don't follow the minors, you have no idea of what the future might bring.OldRed wrote: ↑21 Jul 2025 11:18 amYes, it was hi-jacked in the second post that nothing to do with watching the 2025 Cardinals.
Sitting back and waiting for trades or FA signings, which will only fill a few holes at best, is very limiting. The majority of the future has to come from the Cardinals own prospect development. This thread isn't "highjacked", it's just expanded into the entire Cardinals world, in order to see the whole picture.

You just don't get. It was about the 2025 Cardinals I'm watching. Had nothing to do with the future or the minor leagues.Cranny wrote: ↑21 Jul 2025 11:46 amIf all you follow is the major league club, and you don't follow the minors, you have no idea of what the future might bring.OldRed wrote: ↑21 Jul 2025 11:18 amYes, it was hi-jacked in the second post that nothing to do with watching the 2025 Cardinals.

Start your own thread if you want to talk about the minors and how you enjoy following the younger players, but don't hi-jack one that nothing to do with your love for the minors.

Re: I still enjoy watching or listening to Cardinal games
I’ve only watched a couple games since the Braves sweep.
When the team is in a real race I enjoy watching win or lose but I don’t like getting aggravated by watching bad baseball or bored watching meaningless games and don’t care about prospects.
When they fall far enough behind where it will take at least a month to get back in it, if at all, I just check scores and switch to watching other stuff or playing music, my other favorite hobby.
Call me a bandwagon fan but I don’t dedicate time if I’m not entertained and not going to be angry or bored watching sports.

I'm with you, OldRed. I especially enjoy listening when I'm out on the property doing work. My wife knows that every Friday night I'll be out on my tractor with a cold beer and the Cardinals game on. It's one of those joys in life that remain even when the team isn't doing well.
