I wanted him up to start the year
That would have been dumb
Nope. JW on the team is pathetic. They are the same age, except one was a college stud
They’ve hopefully learned their lesson about rushing players to the majors it’s dumb
How is a proven college stud being rushed when he's the same age as JW is now, who came from high school. 6 of his fellow draft mates are in MLB.
A lot of proven college studs struggle in the majors. You have to accept just because scouty says it it doesn’t make a fact it’s just your opinion and your opinions are pretty much to go against what any one else says
And how's that working out?
Of course it's just an opinion. It's ok to disagree but using JW as a litmus test is inherently stupid
If it wasn't for hammies, JJ could have been the #1 pick
Oh and a number 1 draft pick has never failed before lol that’s stupid
Where'd I say that...stay on the course you set. Using JW as a measuring stick.

It’s still the same college is not the majors in case you didn’t know. Rushing players is dumb lol and you can’t be taken seriously anyway your whole deal is you take the opposite of what anyone else says and usually insult them. If someone says they like Winn or Herrera you say they aren’t good and insult them if someone says they don’t like like oli or Mo you insult them and tell them oli and mo are great
If someone says they like whitey you insult them and say whitey sucks even though he managed to a World Series win and three World Series appearances. You can’t be taken seriously because you’re a one trick pony you’re a moran I don’t know why I’ve even bothered having a back and forth with you
No young player is a guarantee, but JJ seems to have a very solid foundation
How watching Gorman and Walker’s hole filled batting approach did anyone in Cards org think they could be successful ML hitters is baffling
The Cat made a point to comment last night that they are making Walker “move his body and power towards to ball and pitcher instead of away”
That’s an amazing statement to be making about a ML hitters…..that should’ve been taking care of long ago

Maybe he's incapable of doing that and could get away with it in high school.

I’ve been saying for a couple years now…..they both are step in the bucket kings.
Most of Gormans swings are him looking at the 1st base dugout before swing is over
Walker was up on left toe and they both had an extreme open stance…..Better suited for the Forest park softball league.
Gorman closed his stance and had NO power the first of this year….he’s returned to open stance

The problem is they now have JW Gorman Burelson Nootbar and Donovan all trying to get playing time between 2B RF and LF. DH is locked with Herrera. So locking 2B with Wetherholt means Donovan is your must play everyday LF. The. Burleson will be in RF. What do you propose for Noot JW and Gorman?

Leave him down this season. He doesn't need to be around this team this year. Let him finish strong and next spring see where he is at and let him battle for a spot if ready.
Historically speaking, a Lot of ROYs got September callup experience before their award year.

Great points!
Look...I’m psyched to see JJ but for the balance of the season you have a numbers crunch that needs to be sorted out.
Now there certainly could be deadline moves to alleviate some of that but most likely the deadline will involve pending FA’s and possibly Arenado?
Gorman and Walker are on the clock for 2025.
Heck....you don’t even have room to look at Saggese much less JJ!

See Nick Kurtz. Cam Smith. Same age, same draft. He's already proven he can hit with wooden bats.
Bring JJW up in Sept as that's already more MiLB time than several others of his draft and doesn't negate his Rookie status. It also gives us some good insight into who could be replacable over the winter.

Saggese should absolutely Not be looked at before JJW. He's already had some looks this year and pretty well flopped. And his fielding at 3b isn't going to magically start resembling Arenado's if we are just "patient". He's a backup at best right now but we don't need that backup. He's Not our future. The rest of that group - well, if we are in the playoff hunt in Sept, then its probably because we made a great trade involving Gorman or Donovan or someone and can fit JJW in. And if we aren't, then there's no harm in benching one of the starters to give JJW playing time in Sept. Sept callups have worked this way since forever with top prospects. Get them some experience before they have to start a full season from scratch.
