Re: Gorman at #5 in the lineup tonight
I get the frustration over Gorman and Walker.
They arrived with lots of potential but continue to tread water!
Unless one or both is dealt at the deadline(which I don’t see happening) they need to play the balance of the season to hopefully decide on their future with the organization .
Wetherholt and Crooks/Bernal can wait until ST.
As for the deadline outside of the FA’s and possibly Arenado, it seems that dealing a LH bat is most likely to happen.
Could of course be Gorman but I’d lean toward Nootbaar.

Re: Gorman at #5 in the lineup tonight
Wetherholt was/is a much higher rated prospect than any of those guys. He may have been the #1 draft choice if not for his hamstring injury. He's torn it up at every level. That doesn’t mean I think he should be rushed-just that he has a much better pedigree than the other guys you mentioned.gashouse59 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 19:29 pm Why do so many seem to think Wetherholt will come up and be a star an unseat others on the roster or force management to trade people to make room for him? Isn’t this the same thing theses same people were saying about Gorman, Walker, Bader, Reyes, Thompson and Carlson to name a few? I’d say hit the brakes and wait to see what he does and when he does it before you start trading the team away for your latest savior flavor of the month.

If the pundits are to be believed about pedigree, Jordan Walker reached #1 overall in MLB. Would’ve liked to seem him not messed with and given the consistent playing time Burleson got when he came up. He was awful for a while but the coaches didn’t seem to care.2ninr wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 20:14 pmWetherholt was/is a much higher rated prospect than any of those guys. Walker was drafted out of high-school. They all jumped the gun. College players at least have time in milb level competition. Wetherholt best prospect since JD DrewCorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 20:22 pmIf the pundits are to be believed about pedigree, Jordan Walker reached #1 overall in MLB. You raise a good point but that didn’t change the projections on JW at the time, which had him every bit a star as JJW. At this point, after JW’s stalled development for whatever reasons, I can’t argue and hope you’re right.2ninr wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 20:42 pmWalker was drafted out of high-school. I’m very sorry. As soon as I hit send it felt wrong and I went back to edit and removed but apparently it hit your inbox faster than my edit. That was rude and disrespectful.
