Post by TampaBlues78 »

Would you? Would they? What do you think it takes to get him? Would it solve our 2C issues??

Interesting rumor I heard

Ummm what's the rumor?

Just that he might be available, he's being actively shopped, or that the Blues have interest?

The guy makes Sunny look like Yannic Perreault. Absolutely BRUTAL on faceoff's.

McCann does a lot of things well and would be a very solid addition; but IMO it would mean Holloway is filling the void at center(not entirely opposed to that, I just don't think it's the "ideal" solution).

They moved him to wing because of that exact reason didn't they?

Not sure if it was just because of that(he does have legit chemistry with Beniers), but yeah.

Is he an upgrade over Schenn? I mean, seems to be a 200 ft player that has some offense

I love McCann. Not as a center though. 44% on faceoffs. Doesnt make sense.

I haven't seen anything linking him to the Blues. This is not a proposal, but more a question. Could the likes of McCann, Bolduc and Snuggy offset the scoring loss of Kyrou if we were to trade Kyrou for McCann and #8OA?? Would we? Would they? I've heard that Chicago and Utah would be open to moving #3 and #4 but haven't heard of other teams. Does Seattle try to get aggressive? Again, not proposing it and haven't heard it, but I do like the player, albeit at wing, not center.

I'm not trading Kyrou for McCann and the #8 OA. That would absolutely set the Blues back and not solve 1 of our biggest needs.

There was no specific rumor linking the blues, just that he is being shopped

There is no way I'm trading Kyrou for McCann. That is a massive overpayment.
Oh, I agree in a 1 for 1 scenario. I was asking if the #8 overall pick that the Kraken hold, in addition to McCann would interest fans. Sounds like you're a no. I'm probably the same, but you could get an excellent Dman prospect at that pick. Or another good center prospect.

My apologies I completely scanned and missed the rest of your post. I still wouldn't do it even with the #8OA attached, but that at least would be a lot more in line.

I want to move him for a major RHD piece like Dobson (Friedman says that could go either way) if it's going to occur, not with McCann as the primary roster piece. but just to follow the flow of the discussion on the 8th overall pick, that is a valuable asset.

I am very confident we have internal replacements at RW, and with pick #8 you could take Eklund or Martone if you wanted to shore it up further. or get a pretty good scoring center there. I mean Frondell might be there at 8. Just to represent the value of pick 8 this year, it is pretty high.

Good player but plays LW, the position we’re probably the deepest at. Not really a need but might make sense if one of our left shooting wings was one of the main pieces going the other way - likely Bolduc or Neighbours. Buchy would need to waive his NTC and we’re not moving Holloway unless his ask on an extension is absolutely insane.

In the end, I don’t see the Blues as a great match for McCann.

I'd do that if he was RW, and maybe anyway. 8OA is pretty attractive but I don't think there is any way they do that.

A trade that big and isn't ideal for either team probably doesn't happen.
