Well, their kid hurler did a great job pitching, not so good getting back on the rubber. What a klutz. Turned his ankle walking back up the mound. Well, chalk up another one I've never seen before in watching baseball.

...I think I phrased the question to CoPilot as a pitcher getting the win. But, rereading T-P's question, that is not what he asked... My bad... Still pretty rare for a MLB pitcher to retire after pitching in a game and not giving up any hits...

For a pitcher that’s there to pitch, obviously yes. Most of the players with 0 hits allowed were position players pitching in blowouts.

All teams slump. Good teams find a way to get out of their slumps before their season is ruined.

Can the Cardinals make adjustments and get back on the winning track? It is easier if you play good fundamental baseball and don't have to overcome as many of your own mistakes. Today they simply were beaten. Only 3 hits (all in a row) isn't going to win.

Give credit to the Miz for the Brewers . He pitched a gem tonight. He had a lot to do with the Cardinals not hitting tonight. Looked a little like Paul Skenes with his velocity .

Correct ! This 1st time pitcher happens to be the Brewers No. 1 pitching prospect in their farm system. Certainly not some ordinary rookie call-up .
To add to never seeing him pitch before , the guy throws a ton of pitches 100 + MPH

Why would any Cardinal be happy after this loss ? Sonny pitched well for 4 innings but then they got him in the 5th plus the offense is
not showing up offensively. The guys know they lost their best player with Donovan on the shelf . That is a major loss .
