Do you think Padilla will be promoted this year?
Only 18 and power should come, but would be encouraging to see any power from him. 2 doubles and 0 home runs in 75 at bats is starting to limit the interest in him as a prospect.
He's 17.
And that's a really weird way to look at things. Also curious that you mention doubles but not triples... kind of weird.

3 triples, too. I wouldn’t use this year to “limit interest” in him at all. Like you said, only 18 and power should come. He’s got a great frame to fill out into, he’s like 6’4”. If his power comes at all he’s got star potential.
Often times triples are misplays (especially in rookie ball) or groundballs down the line, so don't usually monitor 3Bs too much w/prospects.
plus/plus speed, plus/plus glove, plus arm........the hit tool and power will come. He's still growing, and as AOF said, he's 17...17...we're talking 17....not Practice
He's been hitting the last 2 weeks....give him time.

So he should have stopped at 2B leaving him with a more impressive 5 doubles?
Winquest has given up one run through 3 innings.
Cedar Rapids 1-0
Chiefs have nothing. Kross isn't hitting at High A where he has been mostly catching. Very productive at 1B with PB.
Baldwinsville Native Jason Savacool starts his High A debut with 3 shutout innings.
Peoria up 2-0 on a Villaroel HR.
OT-The Baldwins come from Baldwinsville-not sure about the historical connection.
Savacool with a good second game showing for Peoria, he's starting to get it together this year. Another name that I'm staring to like a lot is undrafted reliever Michael Watson. Always nice when the Cards find a player no one else seemed to want, or, thought much of, or, even knew about, at all. Kudos to the scouts!
