Glad you're keeping your expectations reasonable!
But only til Josh Baez comes up behind him, then he's the face.
Which will last all of two seconds before Rainiel Rodriguez becomes the face!

If he's tearing up one level (AA: .313 .432 .473 .906 ), then move him to AAA in a couple weeks.

So glad Slo Mo is going to be gone, he'd have kept JJ in the minors for the next three years.
So what would you consider the best timeline if he got promoted to Memphis fairly soon and did well? September callup?

September 25 to September 26. We only get 1 hitter call up on September 1st now...rosters can't go beyond 28 man. 1 hitter, 1 pitcher.

Do we add Wetherholt to the 40 man just to call him up for 1 spot. Or do we use that one spot on a guy like Saggese or Crooks (has to be added to 40man)?

I don't know...I think he's here next season unless he's destroying AAA after the all-star break and there's an infield need that Saggese can't cover

If he is hitting HRs then bring him up. Otherwise sometime next year.

That would have C. Bloom's fingerprints all over it.

good analysis -- does Wetherholt go to the AZ fall league?

Yea, totally. No need unless he just absolutely goes apeshit the rest of the year.

If he’s as good as the hype, then he’ll be extended long before he ever becomes a free agent and so service time is irrelevant. Also the next labor agreement after 2026 will probably change all the rules and make this strategy moot.

I'd like to see him hit for a bit more power. It is Springfield. Lots of guys hit for power in that league and in that park.

Technically; it doesnt have to be 1 hitter 1 pitcher. You arent allowed to have over 50% the allowed roster be pitchers, but theres no rule of havi g over 50% be hitters.

It most likely will be one hitter and 1 pitcher but it could be 2 hitters as well, albeit less likely.

That's my prediction.
He'll supplant Ohtani, Judge etc.
Just a matter of time.
The Dodgers are paying Ohtani 700 million…

How much do you think they will pay Wetherholt?

No really…

Will the Yankees or Dodgers make him the first billion dollar player?
