J. Walker update

#STLCards manager Oli Marmol said that RF Jordan Walker (left wrist irritation) has made significant progress and hit and lifted weights today without pain. Walker will likely need an abbreviated Minor League rehab assignment to ramp up for a return to the Cards, Marmol said.

wrist injuries are often tricky and problematic. No need to rush.

Welcome birds'

I sure hope Jordan keeps that stroke (Last 30 PA's: .345 .367 .586 .953) he had prior to the injury where he was really showing sings of breaking out!

I can speak from personal experience on wrist injury. Now in my case, I had surgery for a partially torn tendon on back side in line with baby finger .. it was called TFC surgery (triangular fibrocartilage complex ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangular_fibrocartilage

I played golf .. Surgeon told me not to swing a club .. even a half wedge swing .. I could do minimum putting for practice.
After 4 week recheck ,he told me to wait 2 more weeks to resume golf swings AND don't cheat as I don't want you to reinjure it .. This Dr. was orthopedic Dr . for U. of Tenn. athletic dept . so I figured they wouldn't have him if he didn't know his sports medicine stuff.
Followed the program and no problems after that .

In Walker's case , no apparent tendon nor ligament damage. As you say , wrists can be tricky .. very small tendons in that area

Burleson is better and the Cards are better with him in LF and Nootbaar in RF. Walker should go to AAA until he learns more consistency like most other players. I never understood the rush. Other guys wait until they are 25 or 26 before getting a shot
