I think he helped a potential playoff team today didn't he?Kentucky kid wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 22:12 pm going to play everyday. He is showing how good of a hitter he is.He could help a playoff team.
Re: Please trade Gorman if he is not
trading him would open up a log jam. JJ needs to be in Memphis. And Saggese needs to be in St. Louis
Re: Please trade Gorman if he is not
...but if the Cardinals trade Arenado after this season , then you would have Gorman to slide right into 3rd base . Wouldn't you like that possibility ?Kentucky kid wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 22:12 pm going to play everyday. He is showing how good of a hitter he is.He could help a playoff team.
Trade Gorman now then you are in bind . Personally , I would keep Gorman and let this play out til the end of the year/ winter trade meetings.

1) You won’t see trades being made by anyone until the deadline.Kentucky kid wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 22:12 pm going to play everyday. He is showing how good of a hitter he is.He could help a playoff team.
2) Even if then his trade value may be too low to make it worth while?
3) Ride it out. Show some patience!
I think this has all been covered/discussed at length in about a dozen other posts?

Think Bloom's decision with Donovan will play into the future scenario as to who may play 2nd and 3rd base .
If not extension for Donovan , he has 2 years left with Cardinals 2026 2nd Arb and 2027 3rd ARB .. free agent 2028 He will be age 31 when he gets to Free agent year.
So if not long term and Cardinals go year to year with Donnie, they would need to replace his spot after the next two seasons. If you figure JJ plays in minors another year , that would mean JJ would come up to The SHow for full time year in Donovan's final year prior to free agency.
Remember when Cardinals had a 30+ Kolten Wong at 2nd and then Tommy Edman was waiting in the wings.
PS If Bloom feels JJ is ready to start in year 2027 , then after the 2026 season Bloom could field offers at the winter meetings and trade Donovan prior to his final year ( FA pending at end of 2027 ) with the Cardinals . Get something decent for Donovan and plug JJ in as starting 2nd baseman . Replace a 30-31 year old with a 26 year old.
Bloom will be looking long term as to how he wants to bring up his younger minor leaguers as the 'older ' guys get phased out .

Re: Please trade Gorman if he is not
Gorman has been taking better at bats and I would prefer to see him or Burleson even against left handed pitchers then the guy that played RF recently.

The difference between Gorman and Nolan on D is so much it is depressing.ramfandan wrote: ↑07 Jun 2025 22:27 pm...but if the Cardinals trade Arenado after this season , then you would have Gorman to slide right into 3rd base . Play Gorman! Find a spot in the lineup for him.
