Springfield has a fine starting pitching staff going for them. Henderson, Mautz, Roby, Hansen, Rajcic, etc.

Reminds me of Jamie Garcia, especially with the high pant legs.

2nd best minor league pitching story this year after Roby... could be this year's Mathews in terms of kinda coming out of nowhere.

Cardinals have a lot of nice pitching prospects that could make their way to the majors soon. Probably the strength of the organization currently. Just need a few to stay healthy and continue to develop.

Agree. But other than McGreevy, I don’t see anyone beating down the big league doors. I think we’re 2 years away from filling the roster with homegrown prospects. Next year’s rotation likely Gray, Pallante, McGreevy, Libby. That leaves one opening. Who in minors will emerge? Matthews or Roby?

I think the organizational hope is that Mathews shows himself healthy and effective the rest of this year, to join McGreevy in the rotation next year. Then best case scenario is that Roby is ready for a call up sometime in 2026.

It's certainly my hope.
