Could Burly win Wimbledon?
With that sweet swing of his and the torque generated from his calves it seems reasonable. He’d at least be a top contender. Thoughts?

OK, this has become completely ridiculous. As great an athlete as Burleson is he of course has excellent "racket to ball" skills. But he lacks the dexterity to cover the fast Wimbledon grass surface, and I don't see his serve and volley game being the most deft. However if you put him on the slower clay surface at Roland Garros he could cover the baseline much easier and possibly win a French or two, especially with Nadal retired.Son of Shady wrote: ↑27 May 2025 16:12 pm With that sweet swing of his and the torque generated from his calves it seems reasonable. Well thought out post. But you seem to underestimate Burly’s overall athleticism. What do you think Oli would say about your “analysis”?Mort Gage wrote: ↑27 May 2025 16:30 pmOK, this has become completely ridiculous. Clearly the guy you want out there in the fifth set, match on the line, against a stout right-handed server with a wicked slice . . .Son of Shady wrote: ↑27 May 2025 16:12 pm With that sweet swing of his and the torque generated from his calves it seems reasonable. Great post and insight on hard serving right-hander. A few pumps of those calves and nothing getting by.

Maybe some posters are actually interested in deeper baseball discussion than you are used to, Cranberry. Great point. Dad didn’t even pay child support. Much less grant access to those type resources.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑27 May 2025 16:58 pmI will spill accolades, platitudes, and banalities as I see fit, thank you very much!Son of Shady wrote: ↑27 May 2025 16:54 pmEasy Frenchy.
