Pete Fairbanks said in a podcast that his wife and he ultimately intend to move back to the St Louis area.
A journalist spun that into Fairbanks insinuating that if he’s ever traded, lookout for St Louis being the place he goes.
It’s stupid.
The OP being unwilling to acknowledge that this “rumor” that he shared is B S represents a lot that is wrong with general discourse. People are critically unable and unwilling to consider the idea that they may have been wrong. And instead, they double and triple down, often with ignorance and insults.
This thread is a perfect example of that. Be better. It’s a choice.

If you thought my post was [nonsense], you could have just ignored it. But no, you decided to post something insulting. YOU started this back and forth. YOU.
See, herein lies the problem. YOU started this simply by posting this bogus “rumor” as if it was real.
I simply called you out on it, and you didn’t deal well with that. It’s not my fault that you fell for something stupid. You should be thanking me for helping you think more critically before passing off fake news on people.
Now you've got the nerve to mention what is "wrong with general discourse." You act like you're some kind of victim. Next time you think a post is [nonsense], just ignore it instead of insulting someone. There's something seriously wrong with you. You're obsessed with a harmless post.
The only reason you feel insulted is because you know you were wrong but are too shallow to own it.
You made this a way bigger thing than it needed to be.
If I see you post nonsense, I’m gonna call you on it.
Don’t like it? Then don’t post fake news.
Well bless your heart.
My word, you sure get worked up over nothing
Just having a little fun, didn’t expect him to get all wound up.
Don’t you find it just a little funny that some wannabe hack journalist took Fairbanks saying that he and his wife intend to settle permanently in St. Louis and spun it into a “trade rumor”? And then even funnier that this guy found it so legit that he shared it as a potential deal here to discuss?
Like, it’s funny. But the OP then acted like an idiot instead of realizing he was duped and wanted to blame someone else… because somehow that made him feel better than having to admit to buying a stupid f n story.

ok
He just can't let it go! A meaningless article ruined his day!

I just call out people who post fake news.
You responded poorly to that.
It certainly didn't ruin my day. I think people around here know that I enjoy calling people out when they're wrong or just making shart up
If you read on Facebook that it's better to stuff two hot dogs in your mouth at the same time, I hope you don't then choke on a hot dog today because you believed that to be true, too

Sure, my responses didn't get under your skin. That's why you keep responding in great, redundant detail. You've even been laughed at by others and yet you persist.

You got outsmarted by the quote function.
The only person laughing is me, at you, for believing a trade “rumor” based on a player saying he and his wife ultimately want to settle down in St Louis
Nope. riff-raff laughed at you 3 times. No one else criticized me for posting a gossip link. This is Cards Talk where normal folks post all sorts of ideas and links about Cardinals gossip, trade rumors, opinions, etc., and where miserable people can't control their impulse to immediately find fault, criticize, or complain about posts that aren't at all controversial. You belong to that group. That's pathetic.
