Dylan Peterson has a similar body type to Faksa. If you replace him--you need a big body.
Faksa is a big guy naturally. I would not bring back Faksa. I think you have to allow some internal promotion. Why draft all these guys if the goal isnt the NHL. You can use them as chips--but it motivates the draftees to see NHL promotion. Good for the organization. Homegrown talent etc.
Faksa was awesome. I do understand signing him. But Sundqvist already has a contract. Hes another big body.
Sunny, Peterson--Stancl after that.

Faksa wins big faceoffs and we need that. If you want to promote youth Faksa is not the guy to replace.

For the right deal--makes perfect sense.
He was pretty awesome at his role. It will be interesting.

Is Dean healthy?
Also, was he not traded for to be in a top 6 role back then? Is he a true 4th line guy and willing/able to play that style of hockey?
Dean came back healthy at the end of the year and looked good, however he has only been projected as a 3C/4C never a top 6 role. Definitely projects as a center as of now.
Thanks...man this team seems jammed up but in a good way. Can't help but wonder if DA will move multiple pieces to try to get the 2 big needs.
Hate the thought of who goes and equally big who comes but I'm reluctantly coming around to the idea of it.

I think Peterson becomes an NHLer but he’s a winger. Faksa would be a C. So don’t really see Peterson replacing Faksa directly. And don’t think Peterson will be NHL ready in Sept/Oct. More likely in another year.
I’m not sure I’d refer to keeping Faksa as rolling the dice but I’d certainly consider retaining him. That said, Sunny is already signed so if they do end up adding a 2/3C then Sunny could play 4C. Or we could re-sign Faksa and Sunny can play 4RW. Wouldn’t be the worst think in the world to have Faksa, Sunny, Torpo and Walker all competing with each other for 3 roster spots each night. Would be good depth.

Make a FAIR offer for both NOT too much $ and time; and see what happens. I suspect Faksa recognizes this could be a good place to finish out? If Faksa goes, then keep Sunqvist for his remaining year as a fill-in back up capacity.
Move on from these three this summer anyway possible in the following priority order: Texier, Joseph, Sunqvist -- again keep Sunqvist only if Faksa goes.
I don't care about occasional rookie mistakes...for the money some of these hungry kids can do just as well as Texier and Joseph -- I'm not talking about Dvorsky...he is a potential talent that needs to be developed differently. And Walker is capable as a 4th Line Center.
Have to make smart pickup of another 2nd line Center and another Top 4 Center with size and defensive reliability.
All a tall order, but we are not that far away.
I mistyped...I meant to say, "...smart pickup of another 2nd line Center and another Top 4 DEFENSEMAN with size and defensive reliability." -- Sorry about that.
Any chance that we just see Alexandrov get another look? He was a point per game player this year. Does anyone know if he was playing center and did his face off numbers improve?
