Lugo scratched form todays start
Seth Lugo was scratched from a scheduled start today against the Cardinals, as the Royals right-hander is battling inflammation in the middle finger of his throwing hand.
Rookie Noah Cameron will be recalled from Triple-A to start today’s game in Lugo’s place, and Cameron might well be in line for an extended look in the majors if one or both of Lugo or Ragans ultimately require a 15-day IL stint to fully heal up. -mlbtr

Another LHP, he has had some good numbers in the minors. He threw 6.1 shutout innings in his mlb debut. Gave up only 1 hit but walked 5 batters vs TB on April 30th.

he's a LHP....so Burleson may sit? That's a bummer. Maybe Oli lets him start anyway?
Re: Lugo scratched form todays start
Let's rough up a rook
This is one of those indicators that can further separate this year's offense from years past, when they seemed consistently befuddled by unknown mediocrity just bc they didn't have a good enough scouting report/ game plan.
So have at it Mr. Brown... impress me some more.

Re: Lugo scratched form todays start
I suggested a couple days ago I had heard that Lugo might be scratched. It remains to be seen if that's good or not. This rook shut Tampa Bay down a while back. I'm gonna count it all good until there is reason to not think so. Pitch well, Mikolas!
Re: Lugo scratched form todays start
Actually, that may be one of the reasons the Cardinals see so many LHP.craviduce wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:34 amhttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/noah- ... position=Prockondlouie wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:29 am Seth Lugo was scratched from a scheduled start today against the Cardinals, as the Royals right-hander is battling inflammation in the middle finger of his throwing hand.

True, the whole league is terrified of Burleson and his career 95 OPS+Shady wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:32 pmActually, that may be one of the reasons the Cardinals see so many LHP.craviduce wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:34 amhttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/noah- ... position=Prockondlouie wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:29 am Seth Lugo was scratched from a scheduled start today against the Cardinals, as the Royals right-hander is battling inflammation in the middle finger of his throwing hand.

And for the record the Cardinals have faced:
32 RHSP

But a lot of lefties, lately. Teams are probably aware that Burleson is heating up. And it's predominantly vs RHP.rockondlouie wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:35 pmUmmmmm NoShady wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:32 pmActually, that may be one of the reasons the Cardinals see so many LHP.craviduce wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:34 amhttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/noah- ... position=Prockondlouie wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:29 am Seth Lugo was scratched from a scheduled start today against the Cardinals, as the Royals right-hander is battling inflammation in the middle finger of his throwing hand.

Brant Brown must be pouring over scouting reports on new pitcher to give his individualized game plan to each batter.
Some battin coaches give one overall hitting plan to entire squad,
Not Brant.. he details specific ways to attack based on that players hitting strengths tendencies . Guys seem to do well with his individualized plans.

You're saying teams manipulate their pitching rotation in order to avoid Burly?Shady wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:32 pmActually, that may be one of the reasons the Cardinals see so many LHP.craviduce wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:34 amhttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/noah- ... position=Prockondlouie wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:29 am Seth Lugo was scratched from a scheduled start today against the Cardinals, as the Royals right-hander is battling inflammation in the middle finger of his throwing hand.

That may very well be the most delusional thing you've ever posted (and that's really saying something).

while Burly might be starting to hit better, I doubt teams are game planning around him
lol

I feel you'd be surprised the respect Burleson has around the league as an MLB hitter vs RHP.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:46 pm while Burly might be starting to hit better, I doubt teams are game planning around him

Throwing lefties, raw meat for I. Hererra (1.512 OPS) and WillyC (.862 OPS)!Shady wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:38 pmBut a lot of lefties, lately. Teams are probably aware that Burleson is heating up. Pretty sure teams are more worried about them than they are bumbles (who is indeed finally heating up this month).

It might be they'd rather pitch against Walker than face Burleson.rockondlouie wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:49 pmThrowing lefties, raw meat for I. Yep! Teams don't care about Contreras, Herrera, Noot, Winn, Hurdy Gurdy. Their entire focus is a guy who isn't even an average career hitter!Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:35 pmTrue, the whole league is terrified of Burleson and his career 95 OPS+Shady wrote: ↑17 May 2025 12:32 pmActually, that may be one of the reasons the Cardinals see so many LHP.craviduce wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:34 amhttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/noah- ... position=Prockondlouie wrote: ↑17 May 2025 11:29 am Seth Lugo was scratched from a scheduled start today against the Cardinals, as the Royals right-hander is battling inflammation in the middle finger of his throwing hand.
