He did leave Burleson out of it this time! That couldn’t have been easy for him lol!

To answer your question Shady…probably Sagesse but as others said upside plays, at the moment anyway. Sagesse will get his chance though as he’s earned it. Or he’ll be a nice throw in on a trade.

Nice dig on Burleson. But do Gorman and Walker really have more upside than Saggese? Looking at the last two seasons of Walker and Gorman. I'm not so sure. Maybe other CT posters are. But, I'm not. What have any of you seen from Walker and Gorman than keeps you talking "upside"? At some point, talented prospects need to produce with some consistency.

This is good baseball talk regarding some talented young Cardinals players. Mind gamers, take your attempt at comedy somewhere else. This is timely Cardinals baseball discussion.

At least perceived upside due to physical attributes. Jordan Walker has elite bat speed and made the jump very young and was rated as the top mlb prospect for a reason, a spot Saggese never sniffed. Gorman also promoted young and hit 29 homeruns.

While upside doesn’t equal infinite chances, the team did just commit to more runway because they’re tired of seeing our prospects thrive elsewhere. There is a little more time with Saggese and he’ll get his chance. He doesn’t exactly fit a positional need at the moment either. Moving Donovan to OF has too many ripple effects on our elite defense for my tastes.

Some good points. Saggese could be worked in as rock pointed out. At the present time, beyond upside. At this point, I feel Saggese's bat is superior to Walker's and Gormans's. Saggese could help this team more than Walker and Gorman to win the division. IMO

Working him in = more sporadic ABs for everyone. That has not been a winning formula. Team needs to get through the next month and face the Cubs head-to-head, then reassess if they are even really a division contender. Then think about swapping. Even then, he still won’t fit a position of need. DH maybe if Herrera gets injured, or one of the catchers go on IL forcing Hererra back behind the plate.
