This year is about Bloom evaluating Gorman, Walker, et al. I'd be stunned if they were traded mid-season. I'd also be stunned if Bloom started his POBO tenure trading for Devers. His cost and friction with the Red Sox FO don't add up to a Bloom or DeWitt-type move. As for what Walker and Gorman could get that's a November question.

As of today has one more year(2026) before he reaches Arbitration(3 years).
That makes him a free agent in 2030.
It it true that based on Skenes career projection the Pirates will not be able to keep him.
But.....I would say that they have time to move him.
The Pirates aren't going anywhere for a while. If they feel Walker and Gorman have outstanding potential. The Walker/Gorman for Skenes may not be as ridiculous as some are making it out to be. Criticizing is easy. Let's see their suggestions.

Guy....right now, realistically they cannot get anyone of any sort of value. Gorman and Walkers stock couldn't be any lower. You are getting nothing. Maybe a decent relief arm. The return would not be worth the risk of one of them figuring it out next year. Neither of these 2 are being traded this year. They have close to zero value.
And they certainly aren't going to bring back PAUL SKENES, A TOP END ACE!

i have nothing --- the answer is whatever the best offer is.... you can state you want to trade them both together but if no one wants them the return is gonna suck. With any deal, it requires two teams that want something from the other. Just because you want to trade them means nothing! You identify your target, see what the other team wants and move on from there.
