Re: Dave Jackson...
He’s a total shill and adds nothing to the broadcast.
Re: Dave Jackson...
This seems to be the case will all ex-officials on broadcasts. I get why they feel solidarity with one of their own. I would be perfectly okay if they described why a particular call can be difficult. But just to have them reflexively agree with the call in the game provides no benefit to the broadcast.
I am generally pro-official. They are some of the best people in sports. However if they are being paid to add something to the broadcast, they need to be willing to tell us what we all already know. Sometimes the guys in stripes miss one.

What was this comment referring to? The bogus embellishment call on E-Rod?
As for Jackson, yeah, he seems to just straddle the fence most of the time. Have a firm opinion, man!
That’s what I liked about Panger. His natural instinct was obviously to protect the goalies and to provide context (looked bad but his own d-man screened him) but when it eas obvious he’s say “so and so would really like to have that one back.” He wasn’t rude but he’d call a spade a spade for the most part.

There are a few ex-officials in football who are a bit more candid, but Dave Jackson in my opinion is simply horrible. He never disagrees with the ref’s calls.
