the fact you even proposed this as a hypothetical IS THE PROBLEM. It shows your drastic lack of baseball acumen and knowledge. If you threw out a trade that even 1 GM in the history of major league baseball would consider for more than 1.5 seconds sure, maybe make a thread about it. but not 1 GM in the history of the sport would look at this trade and not laugh at you

Of course not. They will trade him in due time to avoid a total loss. Years away.

It may not be that many years, depending on how the Pirates play it. It seems a near certainty he’ll be super 2 arb eligible, meaning his arb years would kick in next year.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they trade him before the ‘28 season.

I did see his post. If they did trade him it would be for a fair package. Your package is like trading Ken Griffey Jr. in his second year (like Skenes) for under performing first round picks in Griffey's second year (1990) Erick Christopherson and Lance Dickson
