If Mizzou got Bill Russell from the portal, they wouldn't know anymore about him than he's coming to Mizzou.

I believe Mr. Russell is a bit past his prime (plus his college eligibility has run out as has his life).

Those guys would never look into the background of any player. They draw an immediate, negative conclusion.

This is a head scratcher. From the RMN article Javon sounds like Butler & Pierce. Tall guys that don't play tall. The 7' assistant hasn't done much with our bigs. Gray was huge & a decent defensive guy & rebounder, but never much of an offensive threat (& can't hit FT's). Butler was soft. Like said, Pierce hangs around the 3-point line & he's not strong enough to hang on to the ball in traffic. At 6'10" you'd think Javon could help our rebounding & interior defense, but his history doesn't say that. It sounds like his knee injury still hampers his athleticism. Injuries have been a prevalent link between the Porters at Mizzou. Maybe he'll have a great senior year to end his college career on a high note. Hope so.

Mizzou is due for a win with a Porter. Bri had to quit b-ball due to her injuries. Sierra was really good but also hampered by injuries. Jontay had a good freshman year especially considering he was only 17! But then he blew out his knee. What did MPJ play? 35 minutes? Buy Jevon some Boocheburgers & put him in the weight room. Hopefully, he'll stay healthy & be a contributor. We certainly have a lot of height. I don't see the 7' coach on the roster. Did HCDG hire someone else to coach "bigs". Can someone teach them to rebound?

their Big assistant just left to become HC at a school. Then CJ left and they were his top assistants. Now he is left with the dregs who couldn't coach basic basketball or have a plan for the next opponent. IF he doesn't go out and get some top guys who know how to coach fundamentals and game strategies instead of buddies it's going to be a tough year.
