Faksa has brought some solid physicality...
He's a real presence out there during the playoffs. I'm impressed!

Always been a very solid player, just priced himself out is why he was easy to acquire.

For me yes if he will take a substantial pay cut. I'd think in the 1.5 range.Blue Sabbath wrote: ↑03 May 2025 00:30 am
Will we need or want him next season and what do you think he will cost?
Very valuable IMO and has a big effect on what you can do with your top guys. That is PK and d zone minutes they don't have to eat every night.
Things are going to be crowded though and there are lots of factors for sure.

He’s very valuable, but you want him to take a substantial pay cut? Guess what? He KNOWS he’s very valuable and will play for whoever is willing to pay that value. He's a very solid player so there should definitely be interest from our side. 2x2 is probably the most i would go though.
In terms of next year, i think it also depends on where the Blues see Dvorsky.
Sunny is under contract and could take his spot on the 4th line. That works nicely if you pencil in Dvorsky as your 3C.
That being said I think we see Dvorsky start in Springfield.
You might see us try and upgrade 3C in free agency or trade though.
In an ideal world you upgrade Texier or Joseph with a 3C, and have both Faksa and Sunny.

Oh he is taking a pay cut, right or wrong his skill set just doesn't pay that kind of money.Red7 wrote: ↑03 May 2025 01:50 amHe’s very valuable, but you want him to take a substantial pay cut? I think I'd bring him back even if they have to pay him the same amount.Don't think I'd give him more than one year though. That WTF line really has been their driver and still is.

He’s not taking a pay cut. He’ll get paid somewhere, if not StL.skilles wrote: ↑03 May 2025 03:22 amOh he is taking a pay cut, right or wrong his skill set just doesn't pay that kind of money.Red7 wrote: ↑03 May 2025 01:50 amHe’s very valuable, but you want him to take a substantial pay cut? Re: Faksa has brought some solid physicality...
I used to think of Faksa as a disappointment since he was picked 12th overall (I think, correct me) but the second half of this season and a Game 7 aren't happening without his contribution to make that 4th line. Outstanding on faceoffs, smart, strong. I've really focused on him more in the second half once I heard the Stancl interview where they asked him which Blues players he'd met in camp that made an impression on him. Stancl talked about driving in Faksa's car, and how he was shepherding him and other Czech prospects and how meaningful that was to him to have that time. So after that story I began thinking about Stancl's game in terms of Faksa's game. They are smart, toolsy forwards with size. Stancl is not at Faksa's level on the dot. Faksa does not have Stancl's wrister either. All this to say I think he's been a really valuable add and if the dollars are right they should keep him.

Re: Faksa has brought some solid physicality...
Has anyone seen the thing on Facebook where they take a clip of Montgomery saying he was rocked by Faksa and use that with the Clash song Rock the Casbah? Greatness!
