I forget, WHEN did Sanders play for Mizzou?
Before Colorado he was a Jackson St Tiger,, not Mizzou.

Burden was a very good player, but he never came close to the threat that Jeremy Maclin posed in the passing game and in the return game. But yeah, Cook's failure to complete a lot of downfield passes certainly hurt his draft status.

Also, some of Burden’s on field temper tantrums might have been concerns for many teams.
Not wanting to succeed and win is something that would concern many teams

But to think a very few, isolated incidents were some kind of pattern is asinine.

Why does anyone have to be blamed... young man has a contract to play in the NFL, and while he didn't get first round money, his "first" paid job will have him making more than any of us did at ours. He will have an opportunity to make big bucks on a second contract if he is worthy of the money. Wishing him all the luck in making the team and proving the pundits wrong.

This is Mizzou Talk. Attacking players and coaches gets one more credibility. 8O

Burden falls to the Bears and one of the best offensive minds in the game in new head coach Ben Johnson.

Not a bad place to start your career with an innovative offensive minded coach who can scheme ways to utilize Burden's talents.

HIs falling to the second round could wind up be a blessing in disguise.

Very happy for LB3 - the Bears and RandleEl will be good for hm. Much Congrats on a great accomplishment!

RG3 said LB3 was a top 15 talent and the Bears got a steal. I trust RG3's foorball opinions a LOT more than Kippers or the other ESPN bobbleheads, and definately more than any TB poster.

Well. The thread was about burden dropping to the second round. He was considered by some as a preseason dark horse heismann candidate and a locked in 1st round pick. His production was nearly halved in some categories. It’s reasonable to ask why and how

So, what you're saying is it didn't have anything to do with what kind of season the player had or whom he played with.

But that didn't stop posters from trying to place blame and then rationalize it.

They didn’t ask why and how…they blamed Cook, Drink, Moore for his freefall. Maybe he plateaued the previous year and others passed him on the field. Celebrate his opportunity and like I said he will have every opportunity to showcase his talents and prove the pundits wrong.

Blame, otherwise known as reasons why and how. Burden has also been blamed in this thread. Hope he does great. Will be rooting for him. He's starting at a disadvantage in Chicago, but has all the tools to be a true difference maker. Maybe more so than Jeremy Maclin.

I don't watch or care that much for the NFL but what I've seen and heard from RG3 has always been very much on point. He's a smart dude and yes I'd value his opinion over Kiper's by a mile. I hate that LB3 dropped so much because certainly it cost him a lot of money but also because it may be a black mark on the program because how can you not utilize a talent like that, especially in what everyone knew was his last season. It's coaching malpractice.

This statement is beyond comical.

You have to really search for his comments these days, which makes one wonder the effort it must take for someone who doesn't care much for the NFL.

Yes, two top 40 picks. Both signed as HS recruits and developed by the current staff. Terrible look for Mizzou.

Burden was considered at possible 10 pick going into his final season because of his performance the previous season. His drop has a LOT to do with his lack of utilization, that's kind of a back look for the OC and HC.
