The wildcard here is Jimmy Snuggerud he looked pretty good vs the Utah whatevers. If Snuggerud can provide production with Schenn and Kyrou that may be enough to keep the Blues in this series11WSChamps wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 10:13 am With a healthy Holloway you'd have two functioning scoring lines to throw out there and give the Blues a punchers chance given Binnington stands on his head.
Without him I feel the Jets will be very good at shutting down what scoring talent we have on a consistent basis.
Going to have to get a lot out of Snuggerud and Bolduc in their first taste of playoff hockey to have a chance.

Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs predictions by NHL.com
The 2nd wild card will never be favored over the conference champion, but the Blues have as good of a chance as any. The western conference playoffs promise to be wild. As to the eastern conference, the first round features a Florida derby and an Ontario derby so that will add some interest to the first round. I could be wrong but I don't expect Montreal to give Washington much of a fight. I can't say I have any interest in Carolina-NJ; I think the Canes might sweep.

i've said it but it wasn't a fully unique idea, but one of the Blues best strengths is ignorance. They have a combination of a fully vet been there done that backend on defense and goalie, combined with a bunch of newcomers at forward but also stanley cup champions. The fact that Sunny, Schenn, Thomas, Joseph have been apart of cup winning teams is not something to be overlooked. We are extremely young and green at forward, but that could be a strength. It's really an interesting makeup on how the 2 facets of the game are just polar opposites in terms of experience.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 10:26 amThe wildcard here is Jimmy Snuggerud he looked pretty good vs the Utah whatevers. What else are they supposed to be? That's exactly what the purpose of the article is.....entertainment. It's no different than posting on a thread in this forum about who will win what, only in this instance, it's people from NHL.com instead of Blues fans on the Post's forum. Really don't get your point.JB2011 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 06:52 am+1ForumPolice wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 18:55 pmI'm not saying he's the be all end all but I would like our chances a lot more with a healthy Holloway in there
Those predictions are nothing more than click bait. They're entertaining to read, but that's it.

No surprise it feels like when this team does well it is treated like something unexpected. Happy to see the Blues once again be the team that everyone is surprised by.
Re: Stanley Cup Playoffs predictions by NHL.com
We should be the underdog so its not surprising. Especially with holloway out. Jets are best team. Im surprised we even got 2 guys picking us.Spyro Gyra wrote: ↑17 Apr 2025 18:17 pm 16 writers, editors pick Cup, Conn Smythe winner, all 8 opening-round series
Blues aren't getting a whole lot of love from these folks. Hopefully, the boys can prove them wrong!

I find that extremely lazy or lame or both.
We all know who's favored....but is that what is actually going to happen?
good question
