Saggese plays the next two then Winn plays? I don't hate it at all.ramfandan wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 10:12 amIt could happen but I would be shocked . He had back issue last year too and still played in 150 games. This kid wants to play . Look for him to get a 2 day rest and be back in there. Trainers will get him good to go again .Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 08:52 am I would be shocked if he doesn’t spend at least 10 days on the IL

We have 9 players on the roster w/2 as strictly 1B (Baker and Contreras). That would seem to be enough.Wattage wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 10:45 amIts amazing that with how.much the cardinals have pushed so many prospects into utility roles, that we also end up with not having all positions covered with insurance on roster because we also do some things like carry 3 players for 1b/dh only(contreras, baker, burly although burly can technically play outfield) when donovan arenado and catchers are probably capable of backing up 1b anyway so that isnt the position to need multiple backups for.rockondlouie wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 10:35 amJohn Denton

Gorman for WinnHoosier59 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 08:17 am For anyone that has been watching the games, Jordan Walker has looked much better in the OF. Now he’s not close, yet to winning a Gold Glove, but he has looked pretty good so far. Actually, his throwing arm has started to deter runners for trying to take an extra base as well. So, Siani, is probably the least needed player on the roster. Baker just missed hitting a home run in his at bat and that threat is needed on the team. I think I’d bring up Barrero, as he can play shortstop, or CF. Just makes more sense to me.
Barrero for Siani
Makes sense
Re: "I'm not going on the IL"
I dont think they are gonna clear room on 40 man for barrero yet. Especially if he woukd get no playing time and would go bacl down anyways when winn was healthy(i think saggese should stay when both gorman and winn are healthy. Saggese should be the backup ss. Hes earned it for now. But siani or baker should be optioned for fermin til winn is vackBasil Shabazz wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 13:02 pmGorman for WinnHoosier59 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 08:17 am For anyone that has been watching the games, Jordan Walker has looked much better in the OF. Back issues can be a lifetime problem
He’s wise to take the time to get right
A potential big free agent deal is at stake…

Agree with this on all points. Barrero fits our roster needs better at this time. Another RHB would be welcome at this time. I would be interested to see how he could do at the big league level with the Cardinals.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 08:17 am For anyone that has been watching the games, Jordan Walker has looked much better in the OF. Re: "I'm not going on the IL"
I was in shock as Winn wished to return in a couple days . From listening to Oli's pregame announcement aired on FanDuel it was evident that Oli wanted the IL and not Winn. Oli used the rationale that he wanted Winn healthy for the summer months as his reason .Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025 12:03 pmLet's just say I am not shocked. The manager makes the call and player must go along with it . I do like that Winn wanted to return in a couple days . He is a gamer. He played in 150 games last year. He doesn't miss often. Hope he comes back well .
