This is Wetherholt's age-22 season, Saggese age-23.
Actually, there's not really that much age difference between Saggese and Wetherholt. Regardless of the slight age difference. Saggese is, obviously, ahead of Wetherholt as a professional baseball hitter. I, too, wish them both tremendous future success as Cardinals players.
You said they were the same age. It had to then be explained to you, at your request, how their age is different.

So just say thanks and admit that you were wrong.

✌️
He doesn't do that. But watch...within a day or two he'll be repeating the same nonsense.
Somebody else has been very wrong regarding who he claims is the best hitter on the team.
How have they been wrong? Contreras led the Cardinals in OPS in 2023 and 2024. Yes, he’s gotten off to a terrible start in 2025 (after looking great in the spring I might add, which says how little Spring means), but the guy that has 3 consecutive .800+ OPS seasons on the team prior to the 12 games in 2025 has been very CLEARLY the best hitter on the team. Burleson has a .660 OPS this year. He holds a career .707 OPS in 1033 PAs coming into today’s 1 for 4 day.
Evidently, you've had blinders on this season. Contreras is NOT, currently, the best hitter on the team like a certain poster bloviated about continuously.
What do you consider "currently"?

This game today? The past week? This season? The past couple of years? The past decade?

Tell me Marshall, what are the goalposts for you today?
"currently", as in this season, so far. Currently, Contreras is the worst hitter on the team. Currently, what goalposts are you using for him? And, Saggese is currently a better professional hitter than Wetherholt. Are you starting to get the picture?

Well, I tend to look at a little larger sample size.

When Musial or Pujols struggled for a couple of weeks, it didn't diminish their greatness. And when Bo Hart had an amazing run for a few weeks, he didn't supplant Pujols or Edmonds and it didn't get him any MVP votes.

You are looking at this like the child you are.
Obviously, Contreras is off to a horrific start and just as obviously, Saggesse and his 1600 Pro ABs is further advanced than Wetherholt.

But....

As everyone other than an idiot like yourself understands, a baseball season and a baseball career is not a 40 yard dash...it's a marathon. Therefore, you would be wise to hold off on your silly proclamations until the season plays out. Surely, you remember the John Tudor 1-8 start to his '85 season? You know...the season in which he threw 10 shutouts, which has never been equaled in the past 40 years.

Contreras ain't anything close to "Musial or Pujols". But it doesn't surprise me that you don't understand that. You are a piece of work. One smart cookie, indeed. LOL Your specialty is name calling. Be proud.

Went 2 for 3 in that first game in spring training when people wanted him to skip right to the MLB and then finished spring 0 for 17.
Both Wetherholt and Saggese are 22. Let's hope Wetherholt can get to Saggese's level as a hitter, professionally, by the time both are 23.
That would mean both are worthless from a longer term value perspective.

It’s good to see Davis off to a great start for Springfield. Hitting .400 with a 1.280 OPS.

It would be great if he keeps it up. Was ready to write him off last year, which might not have been fair, but he was great at Peoria and pretty good after his call up to Springfield. I would love to see him continue to play great and get a promotion to Memphis and see how he does.

Would be nice to have some RHH prospects, though, now that I'm thinking about it.

I need to get to Springfield and see Chase and JJ before they head for Memphis. I think they both will.
