# 2 spot in the order is a pretty important spot IMO. somebody COMPETENT there would be nice, right Oli?

The Cubs placed lefty Justin Steele on the 15-day injured list due to tendinitis in his left elbow, per a team announcement.
His velo has been down, this would be a big loss for the scrubbies if it becomes a season long issue.

The negativity on here is just brutal. Let's get a win and go home at .500.

Yea, that’s a big loss for them. Hope we can take advantage of it.rockondlouie wrote: ↑09 Apr 2025 11:08 am The Cubs placed lefty Justin Steele on the 15-day injured list due to tendinitis in his left elbow, per a team announcement.

He singled to right field in the 3rd inning of the blowout loss to Boston Sunday. That is his only hit to RF this year, of course, he only has 4 hits total. He may have hit some balls to RF that were caught, or fielded for putouts.

Why not Baker for Contreras instead? Have you been living deep in a cave since the season began?Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑09 Apr 2025 10:52 amHe's buried on this bench. Gotta play Burly and his .650 OPS every game!

Contreras will bounce back but in the meantime he’s a dead weight at #2 which is important.

Burleson at 1B again today. Are the Cardinals now feeling better about Burleson, defensively, at first base than Contreras? Burleson has looked good at 1B. Or maybe they are just allowing Contreras to just focus on getting straightened out as a hitter.

Burleson has always been more than competent at 1B. He is much more adept at the position than Contreras. The only reason Burleson did not get many starts at 1B before this year was Paul Goldschmidt was here.

Contreras has 7 starts at 1B, this is Burly’s 5th. They are both -1 in DRS so far. I don’t think it says anything yet. And both need to hit more.
