Both Wetherholt and Saggese are 22. Let's hope Wetherholt can get to Saggese's level as a hitter, professionally, by the time both are 23.
This is Wetherholt's age-22 season, Saggese age-23.
Please explain.
Your ignorance on nearly every baseball matter is astounding.

But...allow me to try and educate you once again.

A player's age in any given season is based upon how old they are on June 30th. Saggese turns 23 in two days and therefore, this is his age 23 season.

JJ turns 23 on September 10th, therefore this is his age 22 season.

With that said, their perspective ages are largely irrelevant. Wetherholt is the better prospect for a variety of reasons. Doesn't mean he will be the better player, but scouts like his ceiling much more than Saggesse's. Let's hope they both become great hitters.
OK, brilliant one. Now "educate" us, again, on how great Contreras is. LOL
Dude, you demanded the explanation. Don’t be a dooosh because you didn’t like the answer.
Actually, there's not really that much age difference between Saggese and Wetherholt. Regardless of the slight age difference. Saggese is, obviously, ahead of Wetherholt as a professional baseball hitter. I, too, wish them both tremendous future success as Cardinals players.

Straight to AA where the most talented minor leaguers are after missing a ton of time due to injury last year seems aggressive.

He's off to a bad start. It happens.

Example: in 2022 Paul Goldschmidt was the NL MVP. However, he got off to an awful start. Didn't hit his first HR until April 29th. Ended the season with 35 bombs.

Point is...Contreras has a 10 year track record of success. He will come around. He's hardly the first player to have a bad couple of weeks. He'll hardly be the last.

Juan Soto will make just under $52 million this season. He has 1 HR and 4 RBI so far.

Now...what else can explain to you? I promise I'll use small words so you're not confused.

Doesn't mean Saggese will stay ahead. Saggesse has had 1,691 ABs as a pro. JJ has had 115. Of course, Saggesse is ahead of him now. Duh!

How have they been wrong? Contreras led the Cardinals in OPS in 2023 and 2024. Yes, he’s gotten off to a terrible start in 2025 (after looking great in the spring I might add, which says how little Spring means), but the guy that has 3 consecutive .800+ OPS seasons on the team prior to the 12 games in 2025 has been very CLEARLY the best hitter on the team. Burleson has a .660 OPS this year. He holds a career .707 OPS in 1033 PAs coming into today’s 1 for 4 day.

Evidently, you've had blinders on this season. Contreras is NOT, currently, the best hitter on the team like a certain poster bloviated about continuously.

Regardless of their preparation. What it comes down to is. Right now, Saggese and Wetherholt are pretty close to the same age. One is in the MLB and hitting well. The other is struggling at AA.

Yep, according to Shady’s “right now”/“currently” standard, Burleson is the 10th (OPS) or 11th (wRC+) best hitter on the active roster, with the top two players on the list now inactive. So according to Shady, Burleson is the Cardinals’ 12th or 13th best hitter overall.

I dont know scouty said the college was JJs minor leagues and it was dumb for him not make the team out of spring training lol
Regardless of their preparation. What it comes down to is. Right now, Saggese and Wetherholt are pretty close to the same age. One is in the MLB and hitting well. The other is struggling at AA.
What is the point?

This is Wetherholt's age-22 season, Saggese age-23.
Actually, there's not really that much age difference between Saggese and Wetherholt. Regardless of the slight age difference. Saggese is, obviously, ahead of Wetherholt as a professional baseball hitter. I, too, wish them both tremendous future success as Cardinals players.
You said they were the same age. It had to then be explained to you, at your request, how their age is different.

So just say thanks and admit that you were wrong.

✌️
He doesn't do that. But watch...within a day or two he'll be repeating the same nonsense.
Somebody else has been very wrong regarding who he claims is the best hitter on the team.
What do you consider "currently"?

This game today? The past week? This season? The past couple of years? The past decade?

Tell me Marshall, what are the goalposts for you today?

Went 2 for 3 in that first game in spring training when people wanted him to skip right to the MLB and then finished spring 0 for 17.

Doesn't mean Saggese will stay ahead. Saggesse has had 1,691 ABs as a pro. JJ has had 115. Of course, Saggesse is ahead of him now. Duh!

Means. Absolutely. Nothing.

How many times do people have to explain this to you?
Maybe you'll want wait a few years before making any declarations regarding their abilities or their careers.
