Closing out

Post by dhsux »

How do you guys see it shaking out?

3 tough match ups then Seattle and Utah for the Blues

Flames have 3 tough match ups of 7 left

Wild with 2 or maybe 3 tough match ups in their last 5.

Love where they sit but no time to let up. Let's get 3 of last 5 some how....today would be a big ask but a great start.

Im not sure how much edmonton should be considered a tough matchup considering they may be missing their 3 best players(mcdavid, draisaitl who was back then got injured again last game, and ekholm) and are.missing their starting goalie(although skinner isnt good and the backup has performed better).

With a top heavy team, oilers without mcdrai and ekholm shouldnt be that hard of a game.

If the Blues go 2-2-1, puts them at 96 pts.
That would put the blues at 44 regulation wins.
I think that means the Blues would hold the tiebreaker with Calgary because the most they could get is 43.
Calgary would need to go 6-0-1 to get to 97 pts.

Now let’s take down Minnesota so we get Vegas and LA instead of Winnipeg and Dallas.

I know the odds are astronomical, but wouldn't it be nice to finish the season on a 16 game win streak?

Minnesota is in trouble. Been watching them, they have little offensive push.

Will be interesting to see how no Holloway impacts the Blues. They survived without Buchnevich but Holloway carries play and checks both ways with exceptional pace. Good that Snuggerud is here, hope he can at least backfill some of the offense.

Where they are at close of action Monday night will be a key indicator. If they scrape points out of the next two games Calgary's path will get tougher.

Yeah. Unless we totally collapse the final spot is between Minny and Calgary and they play each other Friday in Calgary.

Wild - 89 points
Flames - 84 points

Calgary has seven games remaining and the Wild have five. If the Wild can get 5 points in the five, Calgary would have to win 5 of the seven and they play Vegas twice, the Wild and the Kings. Not sure about the tie-breaker.

Geez I forgot about being without Buch...so much has happened in last few weeks....but it's a good point.

I think the game tonight might well have a number of things catch up with the Blues and the game may go the other way.

But I won't doubt them, not a minute ....and if they do beat the Avs it would lead me to think they really could win out.

Hope there's enough ifs and mights to deny any kind of jinx.

The Blues have faced down that gauntlet before, Winnipeg then Dallas, both ahead of them in the standings. If you have a Cup Finals team it doesn't make much difference who you play as long as your players don't get beat down fairly or otherwise. That was San Jose's problem, they got physically manhandled in every series.

I wouldn't argue against this, but kind of want Winnipeg.

Can I pick that 16 game winning streak at the start of the playoffs?

I hope LA wins today to put some pressure on Vegas to keep winning. If it’s needed I hope LA has something to play for when they face the Flames at the end of the year.

Pick anything you want Master Jedi but how fun would it be if we get that far and Binner won all 16 again? 8)
