Makar's last successful shootout goal was in 2021-22. He is 1-4 in his career
MacKinnon is 0-3 this year, 14-45 for career, 31.1 percent

Based on a poster's comment, I'm presuming the three who shot were Coyle, Nichushkin and Colton
Coyle is 1-2 this year, 19-52 career, 36.5 percent
Nichushkin 1-3 this year, 3-6 career, 50.0 percent
Colton 0-1 this year, 5-10 career, 50.0 percent

Avs have three shootout goals this year: Nichushkin, Coyle and Brock Nelson

Tell me who the logical choices were.
Maybe another way to put it is if that game meant go home or go to play offs....who would be out there?

Makar and Mckinnon...that's who....well....imo.

I will say though...maybe not Makar....how the hell is he with on 4 attempts??

That's absolutely crazy.

With no offense intended for the OP or anyone else for that matter. I'm remaining one of the folks who believe that no pro hockey team would do anything but try everything in their power to focus on winning every game they play.
