Better get Broberg locked up soon....as in this summer. Maybe 6x6 gets it done?
Gets him to 30 with another shot at a big deal.
I don't see Army giving him more than Parayko?

I don't think Parayko's contract is relevant, it's all about the current market. I suspect we'll all breath a sigh of relief when the offer sheet boys are locked up.
Props to him. He has had a very good year, and has stayed healthy for the second year in a row. Still not sure I’d want to give him an 8-year deal, but it’s fine if he keeps healthy and plays like he has this year.
Thankfully Bromberg has at least three years after this before unrestricted free agency and Holloway 4 years, and I’m sure the Blues will lock them up long before that.

That's an overpayment, but really Washington didn't have much choice as their top dmen are getting old.

I do think it is relevant to a degree. I don't see the Blues paying more for Broberg than Parayko unless he extends super long like Parayko did. If he wants to do a medium deal, I could see 6.5 for 4 or 5 or something. But if I'm the Blues, it's a 3 year deal or an 8 year deal. 3 at like 4.5 to allow him to sign 2 new contracts, or go big.
How about Holloway? Wasn't he just kind of an after thought in the offer sheets. He was supposed to just be thought of as 3rd/4th line fodder but he's one of the best players on the team and he's working his way into a decent contract too. I don't think either one of them is going anywhere. Army gave them a chance when Edmonton wouldn't. I think both of those guys are happy to be Blues and Blues fans are happy to have them.

Parayko's contract was signed in September 2021, when the cap was significantly less than what it will be the next few years.
Broberg and Holloway will be RFAs after the end of next season, so there's no urgency for players or management. Besides, that's a long ways off and Blues might be wrapping up celebrations on second consecutive Cup!

I agree and think it would be more accurate to look at what % of the cap Parayko's contract was rather than actual dollars. I believe he signed for about 8% of the cap and Broberg signing for $7m would be less than 7% of the cap when that contract starts.

He has proven that you do not really understand how to identify a talented hockey player AND/OR that you just revel in having a lot of people think you are an immature provocateur.
