Let the other two play in Memphis and get reps.

As for the kinda 6man rotation.... meh ... so a bigger list of guys will get losses and no decisions ...

I am sticking with my low bar. Go Cards
LOL but most likely true

He makes 25 mil this year and 35 mil next year. He has a 30 mil option with 5 mil buyout in 27. So you are correct. I dont thonk hes cpmpletely untradable yet(he would with a bad year this year) but you certainly wouldnt get value other than a salary dump unless you ate the contract. Teams arent paying prospects and eating the huge salary

No fuss.
Just fair and completley accurate analysis.
Decisions matter.
Even concerning the last position player and last pitcher to make the team.
When certain decisions are severely conflicted and compromised, and are not based on the baseball-only best interest of the team, it sends highly damaging messaging throughout the entire organization which is exponentially negatively impactful far beyond the 2 last spots on the active roster.
That thinking had been killing this team for several years and it is indeed toxic to building a culture of winning.

It appears that the Bloom era is off to a shaky start.

This is the choice that changed things going forward. When Baker got the opportunity.
I'm for him getting a shot, but then the LH side may have come down to Kop vs Burley.

Burley has more time, more loyalty, so he got the nod. Kop is the better fit IMO. He may
even be the better bat, but Burley has had some success at the MLB level and Gorman has
question marks. Walker does too, Kop could have helped some in an outfield rotation, but not
to be. Burly, VS, Noot, I guess are.

Siani isn't an MLB player IMO.

The back up SS was likely in AAA anyway. Maybe they see JJ as coming up somewhere mid-season or later.
This keeps it cleaner for MO, how he likes it, no demotions needed.

Matz to the pen was an atypical strong move IMO. Allows the ability to give Libs a shot by getting a player
without much Cardinal future out of the way of one that might while replacing the role Libs was providing.

McGreevy will get his shot maybe within 30 days.

It is the current worst contract IMO. NA's at least goes down and if production dictates bat him #7 or #8.

SG has to fill a need of at least a viable SP, where yeah he's overpaid
but he is at least a good #3. Certainly if he's a #1-#2 that's ideal.

Structured this way with the likely reasons that Lynn, Gibson and Goldy were
known to be falling off the payroll. IF they reloaded instead of resetting, they had an option
on the SP of choice, Fedde eliminated that need.

How about we play some regular season games before we say that. Plus they have already stated this season was supposed to be a reboot.

The biggest question now is who will be the DH against RHP: Gorman or Burly?

The FO clearly stated they wanted Gorman to get a lot of PAs this year. Will he with Arenado still around?

Victor Scott II will be the Opening Day center fielder. Matthew Liberatore is the fifth starter. Steven Matz will be in long relief. Cardinals will go a six-man rotation beginning April 16.

Is keeping Siani a reboot?
Is sending Koperniak down a reboot?
Is sending McGreevy down a reboot?
Is gifting Gorman a roster spot a reboot?

As the season progresses, those who fail will be given the boot. Only for those who failed before can it be called a "reboot".
Koperniak and McGreevy do not qualify.

I call it screwing players who deserved to make the opening day roster.

Not sure I like Libby in the rotation. He just can't seem to maintain there. But he's better for shorter spurts. Who knows--maybe some of the tech that they've already brought it is showing what he can do to stay stronger for longer. Either way, I hope it's his last shot at it...meaning it's a success, and he's just one of our guys now, or he can't do it and it's not a thing ever again.
